Assumption Parish Woman Gets Jail Time on Drug Charge

On March 6, 2017, Alix Delatte of Morgan City, LA., age 24, pled guilty to the charge of Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance. Delatte was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Thomas Daigle. Presiding over this matter was the Honorable Judge Jessie LeBlanc. This guilty plea was the result of a plea agreement with prosecutors following a 2016 arrest.

On October 11, 2016, the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office received information that a female inmate inside of the Assumption Parish Detention Center was in possession of methamphetamine. Through investigation, the female was identified as Delatte, who was arrested the night before on an unrelated charge. Upon receiving this information, jail staff confronted Delatte, who confessed to being in possession of methamphetamine. The methamphetamine was collected and processed and Delatte was subsequently booked on the above charge.

Upon entering a guilty plea to the above charge, as per the plea agreement with prosecutors, Judge LeBlanc ordered that Delatte be committed to the Louisiana Department of Corrections for a period of 2 years with credit for time served.
