Baton Rouge Man Pleads Guilty Following 2015 Donaldsonville Shooting.

On March 20, 2017, Joshua Green of 6227 Crestway Ave. Baton Rouge, LA., age 28, pled guilty to Aggravated Battery following a 2015 Donaldsonville shooting. Green was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Joni Buquoi, and presiding over this matter was the Honorable Judge Jessie LeBlanc. This guilty plea was the result of a plea agreement with prosecutors.

On October 11, 2015, deputies with the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the area of St. Vincent St. and Sixth St. in Donaldsonville regarding a shooting. Upon arrival, deputies received information that the victim in this matter was transported to Prevost Memorial Hospital for treatment. Through the course of the investigation, it was determined that the victim was traveling in his vehicle on St. Vincent St. and came into contact with multiple individuals walking in the roadway. The victim told the subjects to get out of the way, when a male subject identified as Joshua Green pulled a handgun from his waistband and fired one shot at the victim’s vehicle. The victim inside of the vehicle was struck in the hand by the shot. Green was apprehended in the area a short while later and was booked into the Ascension Parish Jail.

Upon entering a guilty plea to the above charge, as per the plea agreement with prosecutors, Judge LeBlanc ordered that Green be committed to the Louisiana Department of Corrections for a period of 6 years with credit for time served.
