Denham Springs Man Pleads Guilty to Illegal Narcotics Possession in Ascension Parish

On February 6, 2017, Brock Doucet of 13860 Brittany Ct. Denham Springs, LA., age 39, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance, Possession of Marijuana or Synthetic Cannabinoids, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Doucet was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Lindsey Manda, and presiding over this matter was the Honorable Judge Tess Stromberg. This guilty plea was the result of a plea agreement with prosecutors following a report of a suspicious person in a Prairieville neighborhood who was found to be in possession of illegal narcotics.

On November 22, 2016, Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to a residence on Crystal Ln. in Prairieville in reference to a suspicious male subject sitting in a vehicle at the end of a residential driveway. Upon arrival, deputies located a male subject sitting in a red Chevrolet pick-up truck yelling and banging on the steering wheel. Deputies ordered the subject out of the vehicle and were able to identify the subject as Brock Doucet. Due to Doucet’s erratic behavior, deputies conducted a pat down search for officer safety. During the pat down, deputies located a small clear plastic baggie containing marijuana, a glass smoking pipe used to smoke illegal narcotics, and a small clear plastic baggie containing methamphetamine. Doucet was subsequently arrested and transported to the Ascension Parish Detention Center where he was booked accordingly.

Upon entering a guilty plea to the above charges, as per the plea agreement with prosecutors, Judge Stromberg ordered that Doucet be committed to the Louisiana Department of Corrections for a total of 5 years at hard labor with credit for time served.
