SERVING ASCENSION, ASSUMPTION & ST. JAMES PARISHES

During the week of August 21-August 25, 2017, the following defendants pled guilty to various charges and were sentenced in the 23rd Judicial District Court, Parishes of Ascension, Assumption, and St. James.

Ascension Parish: 

  1. John Aguillard, 4451 Jenkins Rd. Darrow, LA., age 25, pled guilty to Aggravated Flight from an Officer and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.
  2. Chad Cuccia, 1201 Green St. Metairie, LA., age 44, pled guilty to Theft of a Motor Vehicle and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
  3. Tiffany Everett, 9875 Cochise Dr. Denham Springs, LA., age 31, pled guilty to Theft Valued at $750 or More, but Less than $5,000 and was sentenced to 4 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
  4. Stacy Guillot, 13330 JB Black Rd. St. Amant, LA., age 35, pled guilty to Unauthorized Entry of an Inhabited Dwelling and was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 18 months supervised probation.
  5. John Paul Jackson, 10413 Legion St. Convent, LA., age 26, pled guilty to Attempted Simple Burglary and was sentenced to 24 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
  6. Shaquiel Scott, 2228 S Burnside Ave. Gonzales, LA., age 24, pled guilty to Theft Valued Over $5,000 but Less than $25,000 and was sentenced to 4 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 4 years supervised probation.
  7. Randell Dennis, 578 St. Patrick St. Donaldsonville, LA., age 23, pled guilty to Felony Theft and was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 18 months supervised probation.
  8. Kevin Jones, 800 Catalpa St. Donaldsonville, LA., age 54, pled guilty to Failure to Register as a Sex Offender or Child Predator and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Kenneth Dupaty, and presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Alvin Turner Jr.       

  1. Michael Mitchell, 614 W 5th St. Donaldsonville, LA., age 40, pled guilty to Aggravated Battery and was sentenced to 8 months in the parish jail with credit for time served.
  2. Eric Moore, 5917 Robertson Ave. Baton Rouge, LA., age 24, pled guilty to Simple Burglary of an Inhabited Dwelling and Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance. On the charge of Simple Burglary of an Inhabited Dwelling, Moore was sentenced to 6 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. It was ordered that Moore is to serve 1 year of the imposed sentence without benefit of parole, probation, or suspension of sentence. Upon release, the remaining 5 years of the said sentence are to be suspended, and Moore is to be placed on 5 years supervised probation. On the charge of Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance, Moore was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 5 years supervised probation. The imposed sentences are to run concurrent with one another.

Assumption Parish:
