SERVING ASCENSION, ASSUMPTION & ST. JAMES PARISHES

During the week of July 24-July 28, 2017, the following defendants pled guilty to various charges and were sentenced in the 23rd Judicial District Court, Parishes of Ascension, Assumption, and St. James.

Ascension Parish:

  1. Aaron Adams Jr., 42490 Lori Rd. Gonzales, LA., age 29, pled guilty to Simple Robbery and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 5 years supervised probation.
  2. Misty Morgan, 14405 Harry Savoy Rd. St. Amant, LA., age 40, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule IV Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 2 years supervised probation.
  3. Rauol Dunn, 1315 Bob Petit St. Baton Rouge, LA., age 25, pled guilty to Simple Burglary of an Inhabited Dwelling and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 5 years supervised probation.
  4. Andrew Singleton, 6109 Hwy 308 Napoleonville, LA., age 23, pled guilty to Simple Robbery and was sentenced to 7 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 5 years supervised probation.
  5. Vernell Hogan, 173 Frank Ln. Belle Rose, LA., age 59, pled guilty to Indecent Behavior with a Juvenile and was sentenced to 10 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. It was ordered that 2 years of the said sentence are to be served without benefit of parole, probation, or suspension of sentence, and upon release from incarceration, the defendant must register and notify as a sex offender or child predator.
  6. Killyle Jones, 13489 Chase St. Gonzales, LA., age 23, pled guilty to Simple Robbery and was sentenced to 7 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
  7. Kendrick Nicholas, 401 W 10th St. Donaldsonville, LA., age 23, pled guilty to Aggravated Assault with a Firearm and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
  8. Nicholas Welton, 40449 Cross Ridge Ave. Gonzales, LA., age 36, pled guilty to DWI 3rd Offense. Sentencing was deferred pending a Pre-Sentence Investigation.
  9. Jason Williams, 902 E Verna St. Gonzales, LA., age 26, pled guilty to Negligent Homicide and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Steven Tureau and Joni Buquoi. Presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Jessie LeBlanc. 

  1. Gregory Baker, 45039 Butch Gore Rd. St. Amant, LA., age 49, pled guilty to Illegal Possession of Stolen Things and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.

The above case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Phil Maples, and presiding over this matter was the Honorable Judge Thomas Kliebert.

Assumption Parish:

  1. Kevin Bourg Jr., 6811 Hwy 308 Belle Rose, LA., age 25, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and Aggravated Flight from an Officer. On the charge of Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance, the defendant was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. The defendant is to serve the first 2 years of the imposed sentence, and the remaining 3 years of the said sentence are to be suspended. On the charge of Aggravated Flight from an Officer, the defendant was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. The imposed sentences are to run concurrent with one another, and upon release, the defendant is to be placed on 3 years supervised probation.
  2. Chadwick Landry, 1043 Hwy 662 Morgan City, LA., age 44, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 18 months at hard labor with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Lana Chaney, and presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Alvin Turner Jr.  

  1. Randy Lee Jr., 105 N Faith St. Morgan City, LA., age 32, pled guilty to Indecent Behavior with a Juvenile. Sentencing was deferred pending a Pre-Sentence Investigation.
  2. Kenya Lewis, 108 Marshall Lane Napoleonville, LA., age 20, pled guilty to Aggravated Battery and 2nd Degree Battery. The defendant was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served on each count to run concurrent with one another. It was ordered that 1 year of the imposed sentence is to be served, and the remaining 2 years are to be suspended. Upon release, the defendant is to be placed on 3 years supervised probation.
  3. Tommy Lishman, 115 Aristle Rd. Morgan City, LA., age 48, pled guilty to Indecent Behavior with a Juvenile and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. The first 2 years of the imposed sentence are to be served without benefit of parole, probation, or suspension of sentence.

St. James Parish:

  1. Quentin Albert, 3129 Albert St. Paulina, LA., age 33, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. It was ordered that the defendant is to serve the first 3 years of the imposed sentence, and the remaining 2 years of the said sentence are to be suspended. Upon release from incarceration, the defendant is to be placed on 3 years supervised probation.
  2. Jordan Champagne, 1726 Baytree St. Lutcher, LA., age 29, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule III Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.
  3. Dequez Gray, 223 East 14th St. Reserve, LA., age 22, pled guilty to Illegal Possession of a Firearm with an Obliterated Number or Mark and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.
  4. Chad Rodrigue, 8302-2 Mill St. St. James, LA., age 31, pled guilty to Illegal Use of Weapons or Dangerous Instrumentalities and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 2 years supervised probation.
  5. Joseph Stonkus, 40313 Jack LeBlanc Rd. Gonzales, LA., age 46, pled guilty to Attempted Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and was sentenced to 7 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
  6. Gene Franklin, 3365 Amy St. Paulina, LA., age 32, pled guilty to Sexual Battery. Sentencing was deferred pending a Pre-Sentence Investigation.
