SERVING ASCENSION, ASSUMPTION & ST. JAMES PARISHES

During the week of March 13-March 17, 2017, the following defendants pled guilty to various charges and were sentenced in the 23rd Judicial District Court, parishes of Ascension, Assumption, and St. James.

Ascension Parish: 

  1. Dylan Hart, 44090 Millie Rd. Hammond, LA., age 55, pled guilty to DWI 4th Sentencing was deferred pending a Pre-Sentence Investigation. 
  2. Phillip Sanders, 17140 Hwy 44 Prairieville, LA., age 39, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  3. Thomas Guillot, 218 Paradise Alley Donaldsonville, LA., age 36, pled guilty to Unauthorized Entry of an Inhabited Dwelling and Violation of a Protective Order. On the charge of Unauthorized Entry of an Inhabited Dwelling, Guillot was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended and placed on 3 years supervised probation. On the charge of Violation of a Protective Order, Guillot was sentenced to 6 months in the parish jail with credit for time served. 

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Shawn Bush and Phil Maples. Presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Thomas Kliebert.  

  1. Melanie Clary, 41075 Chick Duplessis Dr. Gonzales, LA. age 28, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance (2 counts) and Possession of a Schedule IV Controlled Dangerous Substance. Clary was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served on each count to run concurrent with one another. It was further ordered that the imposed sentence is to be suspended, and Clary is to be placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
  2. Willie Teasett, 5744 Holiday Ct. Baton Rouge, LA., age 23, pled guilty to Theft of Goods Over $1500 and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended and placed on 2 years supervised probation. 
  3. Tyler Everett, 42553 Hwy 42 Prairieville, LA., age 18, pled guilty to Simple Burglary   (2 counts). On count 1, Everett was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended and placed on 1 year supervised probation. On count 2, Everett was sentenced to 4 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended and placed on 2 years supervised probation. The imposed sentences are to run concurrent with one another. 
  4. Gary Robertson, 13170 Dutchtown Point Ave. Gonzales, LA., age 34, pled guilty to Illegal Possession of Stolen Things and Misdemeanor Theft. On the charge of Illegal Possession of Stolen Things, Robertson was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. On the charge of Misdemeanor Theft, Robertson was sentenced to 6 months in the parish jail with credit for time served. The imposed sentences are to run concurrent with one another. 

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Joni Buquoi and Amy Colby. Presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Jason Verdigets.

 

Assumption Parish: 

  1. Kenneth Moore, 316 Telegraph St. Napoleonville, LA., age 26, pled guilty to Battery of a Police Officer Causing Injury, Resisting an Officer with Force or Violence, Aggravated Assault with a Firearm, and Obstruction of Justice. On the charge of Battery of a Police Officer Causing Injury, Moore was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. On the charge of Resisting an Officer with Force or Violence, Moore was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. On the charge of Aggravated Assault with a Firearm, Moore was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. On the charge of Obstruction of Justice, Moore was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. All of the imposed sentences are to run concurrent with one another. It was further ordered that 2 years of the imposed sentences are to be suspended, and upon release Moore is to be placed on 2 years supervised probation. 
  2. Gerald Neddie III, 1308 James St. Morgan City, LA., age 23, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended and placed on 5 years supervised probation. 

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Lana Chaney, and presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Tess Stromberg. 

St. James Parish: 

  1. Brian Burns, 47169 Hwy 937 St. Amant, LA., age 39, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended and placed on 5 years supervised probation. 

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Bruce Mohon, and presiding over this matter was the Honorable Judge Jessie LeBlanc.
