On March 10, 2017, an Ascension Parish Grand Jury returned True Bills of Indictments on five individuals following the January 2017 shooting death of 39 year old Kermit Jackson on Carrie Ln. in Geismar.
Javante Haynes, age 22, 20 year old Jyvariel Harvey, 26 year old Kentrell Lewis, and 25 year old Johnathan Darville were all indicted on 2nd Degree Murder Charges. Rachel Bueche, age 37, was indicted for Accessory After the Fact to 2nd Degree Murder.
On January 9, 2017, Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the area of Carrie Lane in Geismar following reports of gunshots in the area. Upon arrival, deputies located Kermit Jackson lying in the street suffering from gunshot wounds. Jackson was transported to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
