SERVING ASCENSION, ASSUMPTION & ST. JAMES PARISHES

During the week of May 27 – May 31, 2024, the following defendants pled guilty to various charges and were sentenced in the 23rd Judicial District Court, parishes of Ascension, Assumption, and St. James.

Ascension Parish: 

  1. Justin Dent, 8127 Jefferson Park Dr. Baton Rouge, LA, age 19, pled guilty to Illegal Carrying of Weapons and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisianan Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
  1. Justin Moncrieffe, 5035 Astoria Sr. Baton Rouge, LA, age 40, pled guilty to Theft of a Firearm and Simple Burglary. The defendant was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
  1. Jayden Junius, 1420 St. Francis Pkwy Saint Gabriel, LA, age 21, pled guilty to Illegal Use of Weapons and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Brant Mayer and Phil Maples. Presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Cody Martin. 

  1. Kedric Corio, Prairieville, LA, age 26, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 1 year with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. Chason Cummings, 1430 West Worthey Rd. Gonzales, LA, age 36, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance (2 counts), Illegal Carrying of Weapons/Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, and Simple Battery. The defendant was sentenced to 10 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
  1. Caylin Gotro, 18362 Eldon St. Prairieville, LA, age 26, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 24 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
  1. Rachel Riddle, 1349 Tobey Ave Gonzales, LA, age 47, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and Introducing Contraband Into or Upon the Grounds of a State Correctional Institution. The defendant was sentenced to 36 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. Chris Gibbs, 150 D’Ville Village Circle Donaldsonville, LA, age 41, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance (2 counts) and was sentenced to 12 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 24 months supervised probation. 
  1. Keith Lewis, 1620 South Houmas Ave Gonzales, LA, age 48, pled guilty to Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana/Synthetic Cannabinoids, Distribution, Manufacture, or Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance. The defendant was sentenced to 36 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 36 months supervised probation. 
  1. Roderick Felton, 2138 South Commerce Ave Gonzales, LA, age 24, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 12 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 24 months supervised probation. 
  1. Leland Hickman, 14383 L Keller Rd. St. Amant, LA, age 19, pled guilty to Theft of a Motor Vehicle (2 counts) and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. It was ordered that 2 years of the said sentence are to be served, and the remaining 3 years are to be suspended. Upon release from incarceration, the defendant is to be placed on 3 years supervised probation. The defendant also pled guilty to Illegal Possession of Stolen Things (2 counts) and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. The said sentences are to run concurrent with one another. 
  1. Johnnie Lee Isabelle, 10110 Maripose Green Court Houston, TX, age 29, pled guilty to Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance. The defendant was sentenced to 7 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
  1. Justin Lomas, 324 Federal Dr. Westwego, LA, age 43, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 24 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 24 months supervised probation. 
  1. Jadyn Taylor, 17197 Chenier Dr. Prairieville, LA, age 23, pled guilty to Conspiracy to Introducing Contraband into or Upon the Grounds of any State Correctional Institution and was sentenced to 24 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, deferred, and placed on 36 months supervised probation. 
  1. Jasmon Williams, 321 Tigerville Lane Belle Rose, LA, age 36, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and Simple Battery. The defendant was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
  1. Brian Migliore, 11113 Jean Deslatte Rd. St. Amant, LA, age 35, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule III Controlled Dangerous Substance and Unauthorized Entry of an Inhabited Dwelling. The defendant was sentenced to 1 year with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.

 Assumption Parish: 

  1. Ardis Lovell, 1151 Church St. Houma, LA, age 41, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisianan Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. Quintin Ward, 218 Cascade Dr. Houma, LA, age 30, pled guilty to Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 11 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. Tyler Chenevert, 39150 Hwy 621 Gonzales, LA, age 29, pled guilty to Unauthorized Entry of an Inhabited Dwelling and was sentenced to 1 year with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. Gregory Gros, 2079 Levee Hwy Pierre Part, LA, age 62, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule III Controlled Dangerous Substance and Aggravated Assault Upon a Peace Officer. The defendant was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
  1. Misay Chandakham, 3011 Vientiane St. Broussard, LA, age 47, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 18 months supervised probation. 
  1. Derrick Mills, 121 Burns Dr. Donaldsonville, LA, age 45, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 18 months supervised probation. 
  1. Layne Barras, 34367 Waguespack Rd. Donaldsonville, LA, age 28, pled guilty to Third Degree Rape (2 counts) and was sentenced to 25 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. Upon release from incarceration, the defendant must register and notify as a sex offender or child predator for life.

  1. Taylor Burdis, 3032 Hwy 1 Labadieville, LA, age 35, pled guilty to DWI 3rd Sentencing was deferred to a later date pending a Pre-Sentence Investigation. 
  1. Kaitlin Cedotal, 114 N Curtis St. Pierre Part, LA, age 29, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Lana Chaney and Thomas Daigle. Presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Keyojuan Turner. 

St. James Parish: 

  1. Elijah Cooper, 8180 Kingview St. St. James, LA, age 32, pled guilty to Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
  1. Roger Hamilton, 1156 Hwy 90 Raceland, LA, age 35, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule V Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 2 years supervised probation.                                                                  
  2. Mason Ainsworth, 32241 Hwy 642 Paulina, LA, age 21, pled guilty to Simple Burglary. Sentencing was deferred to a later date pending a Pre-Sentence Investigation.
