During the week of September 9 – September 13, 2024, the following defendants pled guilty to various charges and were sentenced in the 23rd Judicial District Court, parishes of Ascension, Assumption, and St. James.

Ascension Parish: 

  1. Renee Holliday, 3131 Riley St. Baton Rouge, LA, age 40, pled guilty to Theft Valued at $1,000 or More, but Less than $5,000 and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 2 years supervised probation. 
  1. Tyrone Chevers, 272 A Hwy 401 Napoleonville, LA, age 56, pled guilty to Theft Valued at $1,000 or More, but Less than $5,000 and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
  1. Davante Jones, 18004 Timberline Dr. Prairieville, LA, age 31, pled guilty to Aggravated Battery and Video Voyeurism. The defendant was sentenced to 10 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 5 years supervised probation. 
  1. Adereous Scott, 43083 Weber City Rd. Gonzales, LA, age 32, pled guilty to Illegal Possession of Stolen Firearms and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 2 years supervised probation. 
  1. Jeffery Simon, 36424 Sharper Rd. Geismar, LA, age 35, pled guilty to Simple Burglary and was sentenced to 10 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.                                                                                                                                                             
  2. Alexander Andrade, 12195 Roddy Rd. Gonzales, LA, age 19, pled guilty to Failure to Seek Assistance and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
  1. Charlie Andrade, 12195 Roddy Rd. Gonzales, LA, age 31, pled guilty to Failure to Seek Assistance and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
  1. Maria Diaz-Deandrade, 12195 Roddy Rd. Gonzales, LA, age 59, pled guilty to Obstruction of Justice and was sentenced to 6 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 1-year supervised probation. 
  1. Ja’Quinton Fisher, 2103 Allen Ave Gonzales, LA, age 19, pled guilty to Second Degree Battery and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
  1. Jakai Johnson, 1201 N Sugar Ridge LaPlace, LA, age 19, pled guilty to Simple Robbery and was sentenced to 7 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. It was ordered that 2 years of the said sentence are to be served, and the remaining 5 years are to be suspended. Upon release from incarceration, the defendant is to be placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
  1. Darien Jones, 7840 Lilac Lane Pensacola, FL, age 28, pled guilty to Attempted Fraudulent Firearm and Ammunition Purchase and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
  1. Demonte Joseph, 257 Sherman Walker Rd. Garyville, LA, age 20, pled guilty to Simple Robbery and was sentenced to 7 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. It was ordered that 2 years of the said sentence are to be served, and the remaining 5 years are to be suspended. Upon release from incarceration, the defendant is to be placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
  1. Harisha Oliver, 17326 E Cooper Rd. Loranger, LA, age 25, pled guilty to Theft Valued at $1,000 or More, but Less than $5,000 and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
  1. David Williams, 36438 Callaway Ave Geismar, LA, age 27, pled guilty to Indecent Behavior with a Juvenile and was sentenced to 7 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. It was ordered that 3 years of the said sentence are to be served, and the remaining 4 years are to be suspended. Upon release from incarceration, the defendant is to be placed on 5 years supervised probation. In addition, the defendant must also register and notify as a sex offender or child predator. 
  1. Emanuel Ratcliff, 1683 Highland Rd. Baton Rouge, LA, age 31, pled guilty to Aggravated Flight from an Officer and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney J Philip Prescott Jr., and presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Jason Verdigets. 

  1. Brian Miller, 2256 E Canterbury Dr. LaPlace, LA, age 31, pled guilty to Attempted Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
  1. Kristen Dixon, 39327 Catoire Rd. Prairieville, LA, age 28, pled guilty to Simple Burglary and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
  1. Adam Martin, 1215 St. Vincent St. Donaldsonville, LA, age 37, pled guilty to Attempted Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
  1. James Lomas Jr., 1721 W LA 30 Gonzales, LA, age 41, pled guilty to 2nd Degree Battery and Resisting an Officer with Force or Violence. The defendant was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Phil Maples and Brant Mayer. Presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Cody Martin. 

Assumption Parish: 

  1. Dustin Lovell, 119 Cindy Ln. Franklin, LA, age 27, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule III Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 18 months supervised probation. 

The above case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Lana Chaney, and presiding over this matter was the Honorable Judge John Smith. 

St. James Parish: 

St. James Parish had no court news to report this week.
