SERVING ASCENSION, ASSUMPTION & ST. JAMES PARISHES

During the week of February 3 – February 7, 2025, the following defendants pled guilty to various charges and were sentenced in the 23rd Judicial District Court, parishes of Ascension, Assumption, and St. James.

Ascension Parish: 

  1. Aresia Henderson, 6125 Celestan St. St. James, LA, age 64, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance (2 counts) and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 6 years supervised probation. 
  1. Robert Grosse, 41120 Merritt Evans Rd. Prairieville, LA, age 37, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and Introducing Contraband into or Upon the Grounds of a State Correctional Institution. The defendant was sentenced to 4 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. Jamie Dixon, 39327 Catoire Rd. Prairieville, LA, age 35, pled guilty to Possession of Fentanyl and was sentenced to 1 year with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. Shawn Robinson, 12020 Florida Blvd Baton Rouge, LA, age 35, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 1 year with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. Binh Truong, 364 Fayard St. Biloxi, MS, age 53, pled guilty to Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 10 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
  1. Jelette Scott, 313 Chad B Baker St. Reserve, LA, age 35, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 36 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 36 months supervised probation. 
  1. Ryan Williams, 2638 Jessamine Ave Baton Rouge, LA, age 32, pled guilty to Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana/Synthetic Cannabinoids and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Charles “Chuck” Long, Robin O’Bannon, and Kenneth Dupaty. Presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge John Smith.

Assumption Parish: 

Assumption Parish had no court news to report this week. 

St. James Parish: 

  1. Michael Lee, 2368 Texas St. Lutcher, LA, age 41, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance (3 counts) and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.

 The above case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Bruce Mohon, and presiding over this matter was the Honorable Judge Keyojuan Turner.
