SERVING ASCENSION, ASSUMPTION & ST. JAMES PARISHES

During the week of February 17 – February 21, 2025, the following defendants pled guilty to various charges and were sentenced in the 23rd Judicial District Court, parishes of Ascension, Assumption, and St. James.

Ascension Parish:  

  1. Alfred Aultman, 417 W Minor St. Gonzales, LA, age 60, pled guilty to Distribution, Manufacture, or Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance (3 counts) and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
  1. Markquincy Chatman, 608 Claiborne St. Donaldsonville, LA, age 37, pled guilty to Domestic Abuse Battery Involving Strangulation and Domestic Abuse Battery with Child Endangerment. The defendant was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. Jeremy Comeaux, 211 Eucharist Rd. Lafayette, LA, age 25, pled guilty to Simple Burglary (6 counts) and was sentenced to 6 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. Micca Dotson, 45803 Huntington Dr. St. Amant, LA, age 33, pled guilty to Aggravated Battery and DWI 3rd The defendant was sentenced to 8 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. Zena Ely, 5344 Jackson Ave. Baton Rouge, LA, age 53, pled guilty to Theft Valued at $1,000 or More, but Less than $5,000 and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.                                                                         
  2. Donell Harris, 4435 Jenkins Rd. Darrow, LA, age 18, pled guilty to Inciting a Riot Resulting in Death and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. Peyton Jackson, 5030 Brown St. Darrow, LA, age 17, pled guilty to Inciting a Riot Resulting in Death and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. Aaron Landry, 44371 Willie Bell Rd. Gonzales, LA, age 20, pled guilty to Inciting a Riot Resulting in Death and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. Tori Lundy, 234 Crooked Creek St. Lafayette, LA, age 25, pled guilty to Simple Burglary (6 counts) and was sentenced to 6 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. Marty Poole, 35428 McDaniel Rd. Geismar, LA, age 48, pled guilty to Theft Valued at $5,000 or More, but Less than $25,000 and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
  1. Jiesary Price, Donaldsonville, LA, age 27, pled guilty to 2nd Degree Battery, Simple Escape, Conspiracy to Introducing Contraband Into or Upon the grounds of any State Correctional Institution (2 counts), Conspiracy to Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance, Conspiracy to Distribution, Manufacture, or Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana or Synthetic Cannabinoids (2 counts), Attempted Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, and Contributing to the Delinquency of Juveniles (2 counts). The defendant was sentenced to 4 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. Justin Scott, 5030 Brown St. Darrow, LA, age 18, pled guilty to Inciting a Riot Resulting in Death and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. Stefan Sheppard, 116 D’Ville Village Circle Donaldsonville, LA, age 37, pled guilty to Theft Valued at $1,000 or More, but Less than $5,000 and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. Ann Whitney, 175 Bayou Paquet St. Slidell, LA, age 42, pled guilty to Failure to Return or Surrender a Leased Movable Valued at $1,000 or More and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 2 years supervised probation. 
  1. Kevian Williams, 44242 Bella Lane Hammond, LA, age 34, pled guilty to Unauthorized Entry of an Inhabited Dwelling and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with the credit for time served. 
  1. Wendall Batiste, 1509 N Coolidge Ave. Gonzales, LA, age 40, pled guilty to Monetary Instrument Abuse and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
  1. Ebony Campell, 8544 South St. Landry Ave. Gonzales, LA, age 44, pled guilty to Cruelty to Juveniles (3 counts) and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 1-year supervised probation. 
  1. Camron Cooper, 8164 Cane view St. St. James, LA, age 24, pled guilty to Obscenity and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 2 years supervised probation. 
  1. Ashley Forbes, 32260 Weiss Rd. Walker, LA, age 31, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 2 years supervised probation. 
  1. James Gilley, 16499 Stewart Rd. Prairieville, LA, age 46, pled guilty to Cruelty to Juveniles and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
  1. Jamyrion Jenkins, 35481 River Rd. Donaldsonville, LA, age 27, pled guilty to Domestic Abuse Battery with Child Endangerment and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 2 years supervised probation.                                                                         
  2. Ronald Saltzman Jr., 12429 O’Neal Rd. Gonzales, LA, age 58, pled guilty to Theft Valued at $5,000 or More, but Less than $25,000 and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Lana Chaney and Adam Koenig. Presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Steven Tureau. 

  1. Ryshonne Valentine, 39081 McCrory Rd. Prairieville, LA, age 26, pled guilty to Attempted Possession of a Firearm by a Person Convicted of Domestic Abuse and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
  1. Jerry Oubre, 18143 Manning Dr. Prairieville, LA, age 58, pled guilty to Indecent Behavior with a Juvenile (3 counts) and was sentenced to 7 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. The defendant must also Register and Notify as a Sex Offender or Child Predator. 
  1. Josselin Polanco, 1435 Jasper Ave. Baton Rouge, LA, age 28, pled guilty to Simple Burglary of an Inhabited Dwelling (2 counts) and was sentenced to 4 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 2 years supervised probation. 
  1. Dominic Harvey, 3368 Webb Dr. Baton Rouge, LA, age 32, pled guilty to Theft Valued at $1,000 or More, but Less than $5,000 and was sentenced to 4 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. Tawannah Mixon, 12488 Laurel Ridge Rd. St. Amant, LA, age 44, pled guilty to Illegal Possession of Stolen Things and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. Benjamin Reynaud, 308 Turtle Creek Ln. St. Rose, LA, age 23, pled guilty to Illegal Possession of Stolen Things and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.  
  1. Travis Mills, 503 St. Patrick St. Donaldsonville, LA, age 41, pled guilty to Unauthorized Entry of an Inhabited Dwelling and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Leila Braswell and Jeff Heggelund. Presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Keyojuan Turner. 

Assumption Parish: 

  1. Jarrett Simoneaux, 7405 Hwy 1 S Donaldsonville, LA, age 31, pled guilty to Distribution, Manufacture, or Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance. The defendant was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
  1. Kelton Smith, 199 St. Marie Alley Morgan City, LA, age 28, pled guilty to Aggravated Flight from an Officer and Domestic Abuse Battery of a Pregnant Victim. The defendant was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. Adam Hunt, 36442 Hwy 74 Geismar, LA, age 37, pled guilty to Aggravated Flight from an Officer and was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Thomas Daigle, and presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Cody Martin. 

St. James Parish: 

  1. On November 13, 2024, Maurice Collins of 1110 Collins St. Vacherie, LA, age 40, pled guilty to Distribution, Manufacture, or Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule IV Controlled Dangerous Substance (3 counts), Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, and Illegal Use of a Weapon While in Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance. Sentencing was deferred to a later date pending a Pre-Sentence Investigation. On February 18, 2025, the defendant appeared before Judge Verdigets for sentencing. The defendant was sentenced to 20 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
