SERVING ASCENSION, ASSUMPTION & ST. JAMES PARISHES

During the week of January 5 – January 9, 2026, the following defendants pled guilty to various charges and were sentenced in the 23rd Judicial District Court, parishes of Ascension, Assumption, and St. James.

Ascension Parish:

  1. Tyrek Johnson, Gonzales, LA, age 26, pled guilty to Illegal Carrying of Weapons (2 counts), Possession of a Schedule IV Controlled Dangerous Substance, and Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance. The defendant was sentenced to 10 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 5 years supervised probation. 
  1. Darrell Hayes, Gonzales, LA, age 41, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 1 year with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. Travis Braud, St. Amant, LA, age 47, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 8 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. Kifton Lewis, Gonzales, LA, age 31, pled guilty to Aggravated Flight from an Officer, Aggravated Assault Upon a Peace Officer, and Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance. The defendant was sentenced to 15 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Charles “Chuck” Long, Robin O’Bannon, and Kenneth Dupaty. Presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge John Smith. 

Assumption Parish: 

  1. Jorian Johnson, 504 ½ Adam Hall St. Napoleonville, LA, age 18, pled guilty to Theft of a Firearm and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. The said sentence is to run concurrent with probation and parole revocation. 
  1. Jarvis Allemond, 115 Mercury St. Pierre Part, LA, age 30, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. The said sentence is to run concurrent with probation and parole revocation. 
  1. Michael Butler, 500 Franklin St. Napoleonville, LA, age 45, pled guilty to Attempted Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. The said sentence is to run concurrent with probation and parole revocation. 
  1. Jamie Adams, 306 Ledet St. Thibodaux, LA, age 39, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 1 year with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 

St. James Parish: 

  1. Ebone Williams, 1512 Monaco Parkway Denver, CO, age 40, pled guilty to Battery of Emergency Room Personnel, Emergency Services Personnel, or a Healthcare Professional and Battery of a Correctional Employee. The defendant was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 

The above case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Bruce Mohon, and presiding over this matter was the Honorable Judge Keyojuan Turner.
