During the week of March 16 – March 20, 2026, the following defendants pled guilty to various charges and were sentenced in the 23rd Judicial District Court, parishes of Ascension, Assumption, and St. James.

Ascension Parish: 

  1. Ethin Butler, 45158 Huntington Dr. Saint Amant, LA, age 23, pled guilty to Illegal Use of Weapons and was sentenced to 1 year with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, deferred, and the defendant is to be placed on 1-year supervised probation. 
  1. Corey Cheong, 37313 Hwy 74 Gonzales, LA, age 32, pled guilty to Domestic Abuse Battery-Strangulation and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 1-year supervised probation. 
  1. Mark Darby, 8191 Main St. Gonzales, LA, age 26, pled guilty to Aggravated Flight from an Officer and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. The defendant was sentenced to 10 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. Liam Frazier, 735 W Versailles Dr. Baton Rouge, LA, age 21, pled guilty to Illegal Use of Weapons and was sentenced to 1 year with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, deferred, and the defendant is to be placed on 1-year supervised probation. 
  1. Major Jones IV, 11225 Tracy St. Saint Amant, LA, age 32, pled guilty to Aggravated Criminal Damage to Property and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
  1. David Macaluso, 9895 Florida Blvd Baton Rouge, LA, age 36, pled guilty to Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance (2 counts) and Illegal Carrying of Weapons while in Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance. Sentencing was deferred to a later date pending a Pre-Sentence Investigation. 
  1. Amber Courteaux, 44324 Melancon St. Sorrento, LA, age 39, pled guilty to Illegal Possession of Stolen Things Valued at $25,000 or More and was sentenced to 10 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 5 years supervised probation. 
  1. Clarence Dunbar II, 1375 Braeburn Dr. Baton Rouge, LA, age 20, pled guilty to Second Degree Battery and was sentenced to 8 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
  1. Adam Francois, 921 W Macci St. Gonzales, LA, age 28, pled guilty to Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 10 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
  1. Brian Johnson, 1240 Jefferson Hwy Baton Rouge, LA, age 24, pled guilty to Aggravated Assault of a Dating Partner – Child Endangerment and was sentenced to 1 year with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 1-year supervised probation. 
  1. Chet Ourso, 137 Rue De Beauville Napoleonville, LA, age 28, pled guilty to Simple Burglary (3 counts) and was sentenced to 6 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
  1. Jeaon Pindexter, 38320 Josh Brown Rd. Gonzales, LA, age 18, pled guilty to Manslaughter and Obstruction of Justice. The defendant was sentenced to 60 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.                                                                                                                                                                                         
  2. Tevin Tureaud, 12361 Dutchtown Villa Geismar, LA, age 34, pled guilty to Theft Valued at $1,000 or More, but Less than $5,000 and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
  1. Michael Tyler, 36491 Retreat Lane Prairieville, LA, age 55, pled guilty to Third Degree Rape. Sentencing was deferred to a later date pending a Pre-Sentence Investigation. Pursuant to the plea agreement, there is a 20-year sentencing cap. 
  1. David Williams, 38085 Cove Court Prairieville, LA, age 62, pled guilty to DWI 3rd Sentencing was deferred to a later date pending a Pre-Sentence Investigation. 
  1. Baylin Wyatt, 45079 Butch Gore Rd. Saint Amant, LA, age 20, pled guilty to Illegal Use of Weapons and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, deferred, and the defendant is to be placed on 2 years supervised probation. 

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Adam Koenig and Lana Chaney. Presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Steven Tureau. 

  1. Nathan Herig, 729 E Rome St. Gonzales, LA, age 47, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
  1. Trevis Stevens, 8370 S St. Landry Rd. Gonzales, LA, age 29, pled guilty to Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana or Synthetic Cannabinoids and was sentenced to 10 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 5 years supervised probation. 
  1. Richard Morris, 1351 Harrison Ave. New Orleans, LA, age 41, pled guilty to Illegal Possession of Stolen Firearms (2 counts) and was sentenced to 6 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
  1. Leon Wilson, 18609 Greenwell Springs Rd. Greenwell Springs, LA, age 27, pled guilty to Bank Fraud and Monetary Instrument Abuse. The defendant was sentenced to 6 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 4 years supervised probation. 
  1. Terrence Taylor, 17232 Old Jefferson Hwy Prairieville, LA, age 25, pled guilty to Theft Valued at $1,000 or More, but Less than $5,000 and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 2 years supervised probation. 
  1. Chaz Delatte, 2116 Eads St. New Orleans, LA, age 22, pled guilty to Organized Retail Theft – Aggregate $1,000 or More, but Less than $5,000 and was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, deferred, and the defendant is to be placed on 18 months supervised probation. 
  1. Christopher Thomas, age 24, pled guilty to Aggravated Assault with a Firearm and Simple Burglary. The defendant was sentenced to 10 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.

  1. Dylan Hebert, 36885 Hwy 75 Plaquemine, LA, age 26, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule IV Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
  1. Johura Patterson, 510 South Blvd. Baton Rouge, LA, age 46, pled guilty to Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
  1. Eric Pineiro, 624 Dashland Dr. Fayetteville, NC, age 32, pled guilty to Bank Fraud and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. Rontrell Riley, 3290 Ourso Rd. Donaldsonville, LA, age 37, pled guilty to Illegal Use of Weapons and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, deferred, and the defendant is to be placed on 3 years supervised probation.

Assumption Parish: 

  1. Kaitlyn Landry, 6716 Hwy 1 Belle Rose, LA, age 30, pled guilty to Distribution, Manufacture, or Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 9 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. David Crain, 4331 Hwy 70 S Pierre Part, LA, age 28, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 18 months supervised probation. 
  1. John Westerfield, 30449 Castro Lane Donaldsonville, LA, age 33, pled guilty to Distribution, Manufacture, or Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule III Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 4 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. Seth Pujol, 2413 Lee Dr. Pierre Part, LA, age 35, pled guilty to Distribution, Manufacture, or Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule III Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. Nicole Gros, 124 Mary Ann St. Pierre Part, LA, age 45, pled guilty to Distribution, Manufacture, or Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance. The defendant was sentenced to 10 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. Devin Clay, 221 Mckinley St. Houma, LA, age 34, pled guilty to Attempted Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and was sentenced to 6 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. It was ordered that 1 year of the said sentence is to be served, and the remaining 5 years are to be suspended. Upon release from incarceration, the defendant is to be placed on 3 years supervised probation.
