Ascension Parish:
- Kendell Gray, Houston, TX, age 36, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 24 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 24 months supervised probation.
- Gerald Taylor, Port Allen, LA, age 29, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and Possession of a Schedule IV Controlled Dangerous Substance. The defendant was sentenced to 3 ½ years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 36 months supervised probation.
- Curran Steele, Albany, LA, age 37, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule IV Controlled Dangerous Substance and Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance. The defendant was sentenced to 4 ½ years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
- On January 7, 2026, Franklin Darville III, Prairieville, LA, age 35, pled guilty to Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance, Possession with Intent to Distribute Fentanyl, and Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance. Sentencing was deferred to a later date pending a Pre-Sentence Investigation. On May 4, 2026, Darville was sentenced to 25 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
- Daniel Bateman, Plaquemine, LA, age 49, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance (3 counts) and Possession of Fentanyl. The defendant was sentenced to 9 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 5 years supervised probation.
- Shandolan Carey, Geismar, LA, age 49, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and Possession of a Schedule IV Controlled Dangerous Substance. The defendant was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 5 years supervised probation.
- Phillip Ricard II, Baton Rouge, LA, age 31, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.
The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Charles “Chuck” Long, Robin O’Bannon, and Kenneth Dupaty, Presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge John Smith.
Assumption Parish:
- Alexys Peltier, 616 Washington St. West Monroe, LA, age 44, pled guilty to DWI 3rd Offense and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. It was ordered that 1 year of the said sentence is to be served on home incarceration, and the remaining 2 years are to be suspended. Upon completion of home incarceration, the defendant is to be placed on 3 years supervised probation.
- Denzel Dailey, 3603 Green Meadows Alexandria, LA, age 31, pled guilty to Aggravated Assault Upon a Peace Officer and Aggravated Flight from an Officer. The defendant was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 5 years supervised probation.
- Michael Federer Jr., 1641 West 2nd Morgan City, LA, age 35, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 1-year supervised probation.

St. James Parish:
- Tristan Messer, 270 Shadow Pointe Rd. Thibodaux, LA, age 26, pled guilty to Obscenity and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.
The above case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Adam Koenig, and presiding over this matter was the Honorable Judge Cody Martin.
