On April 4, 2024, Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a Napoleonville residence in reference to a domestic related incident. An arrest warrant was issued for Williams who was subsequently arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center.
On July 15, 2025, while out on bond for the incident previously mentioned, Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the Assumption Paish Sheriff’s Office to handle a walk in complaint. Upon arrival, deputies made contact with the complainant who advised that while walking through the Village of Napoleonville, said complaint was approached by Jovvon Williams. At some point during the encounter, Williams brandished a firearm. The complainant did not wish to pursue charges, however, wished to file a report and for Williams to refrain from further contact. Deputies were able to locate Williams a short time later. Upon making contact with Williams, he was in fact in possession of a firearm. Williams, who is a convicted felon, was ultimately arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center.
Upon entering a guilty plea to the above-mentioned charges, pursuant to the plea agreement with prosecutors, Jovvon Williams was sentenced to 7 years with the Louisiana Department of corrections with credit for time served.
