Gonzales Man Sentencing to 40 Years for Possession of Child Pornography

On April 21, 2026, Jacob Trejo of 12424 Cleo Rd. Gonzales, LA, age 20, pled guilty as charged to Possession of Pornography Involving Juveniles When the Victim is Under 13 Years of Age (9 counts). Trejo was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Adam Koenig and Lana Chaney. Presiding over this matter was the Honorable Judge Steven Tureau.

On August 26, 2024, detectives with the Louisiana State Police Special Victims Unit received a cybertip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children regarding the possession and sharing of Child Sexual Abuse Material. Detectives obtained information identifying Jacob Trejo as the subject of the cybertip and were able to confirm that Trejo did possess and share videos and photographs containing Child Sexual Abuse Material. Further investigation led detectives to securing a warrant of arrest for Trejo. Detectives executed a search warrant at Trejo’s residence and seized electronic devices believed to have been used by Trejo. Jacob Trejo was arrested in Jefferson Parish and ultimately booked into the Ascension Parish Jail.

Upon entering a guilty plea to the above-mentioned charges, sentencing was deferred to a later date pending a Pre-Sentence Investigation. On July 21, 2026, Jacob Trejo appeared before Judge Tureau for sentencing. Trejo was sentenced to 40 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served on each count. The said sentences are to run concurrent with one another and are to be served without benefit of parole, probation, or suspension of sentence.
