During the week of June 24 – June 28, 2024, the following defendants pled guilty to various charges and were sentenced in the 23rd Judicial District Court, parishes of Ascension, Assumption, and St. James.

Ascension Parish: 

  1. Beau Babin, 13111 Lamar Moran Rd. St. Amant, LA, age 30, pled guilty to Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule IV Controlled Dangerous Substance (2 counts) and Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance. The defendant was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisianan Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. Marcus Deandera Dominique, 32565 Graham St. White Castle, LA, age 32, pled guilty to Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance, Driving Under Suspension, Reckless Operation, and Disturbing the Peace. The defendant was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisianan Department of Corrections with credit for time served.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          
  2.  Bradley Gros, 44346 Braud St. Sorrento, LA, age 34, pled guilty to Possession or Introduction of Contraband into a Penal Institution, Possession of a Schedule III Controlled Dangerous Substance, and DWI 3rd The defendant was sentenced to 1 year with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. Lavonte McClyde, 1009 Besson St. Sunshine, LA, age 29, pled guilty to Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana and Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance. The defendant was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. Quincy Miles, 1908 S Gaudin Ave. Gonzales, LA, age 34, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance (2 counts) and Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance. The defendant was sentenced to 36 months with the Louisianan Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 36 months supervised probation.                                                                                                                                                                                       
  2.  Gabrielle Maisoneuve, 48024 Rogers A Rd. St. Amant, LA, age 21, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and Contributing to the Delinquency of Juveniles/Controlled Dangerous Substance. The defendant was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
  1. Brian Keith Reed, 146 Freetown Lane Belle Rose, LA, age 52, pled guilty to Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana/Synthetic Cannabinoids and Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance. The defendant was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
  1. Omer Masid Fadhel, 2534 N Foster Dr. Baton Rouge, LA, age 20, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 24 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 36 months supervised probation. 
  1. Heather Allen, 811 North Bryan St. Merryville, LA, age 39, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 24 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 36 months supervised probation. 
  1. Charles Brown, 5418 LV Rd. Sorrento, LA, age 51, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 36 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 36 months supervised probation. 
  1. Douglas Caldwell, 18230 Little Prairie Rd. Prairieville, LA, age 45, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule IV Controlled Dangerous Substance (2 counts) and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. Michael Duplessis, 11189 Rip Duplessis Rd. Gonzales, LA, age 41, pled guilty to Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance, Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance, and Possession or Introduction of Contraband into a Correctional Institution. The defendant was sentenced to 20 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. Emiliann Sanders, 4341 West Central Dr. Baker, LA, age 21, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance and Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance. The defendant was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Charles “Chuck” Long, Robin O’Bannon, and Kristen Tregre. Presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge James Kuhn. 

Assumption Parish: 

  1. Trent Simoneaux, 5779 Hwy 1 Napoleonville, LA, age 32, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance, Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and Illegal Possession of Stolen Firearms. The defendant was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisianan Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 2 years supervised probation. 
  1. Miguel Ramos, 106 Amelia St. Houma, LA, age 51, pled guilty to Vehicular Homicide and was sentenced to 15 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. Courtney Murphy, 520 Eliza St. Houma, LA, age 27, pled guilty to Illegal Possession of Stolen Things Valued at $25,000 or More and was sentenced to 1 year with the Louisianan Department of Corrections with credit for time served.   
  1. Shannon Scribner, 131 Simone St. Pierre Part, LA, age 41, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule IV Controlled Dangerous Substance and Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance. The defendant was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 2 years supervised probation. 
  1. Brittany Kelly, 157 Felicia St. Morgan City, LA, age 32, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance and Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance. The defendant was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisianan Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 18 months supervised probation. 
  1. Tramari Triplett, 4551 Hwy 308 Napoleonville, LA, age 21, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 2 years supervised probation. 

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Lana Chaney and Thomas Daigle. Presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Keyojuan Turner. 

  1. Jamon Davis, 108 Jerome Court Labadieville, LA, age 18, pled guilty to Aggravated Battery and was sentenced to 10 years with the Louisianan Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
  1. Jaron Foret, 125 Pond Dr. Morgan City, LA, age 33, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisianan Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 18 months supervised probation. 
  1. Ricky Bolden, 6040 Hwy 308 A Paincourtville, LA, age 54, pled guilty to Aggravated Battery and was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Thomas Daigle, and presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Jason Verdigets. 

St. James Parish: 

St. James Parish had no court news to report this week.
