SERVING ASCENSION, ASSUMPTION & ST. JAMES PARISHES

During the week of May 12 – May 16, 2025, the following defendants pled guilty to various charges and were sentenced in the 23rd Judicial District Court, parishes of Ascension, Assumption, and St. James.

Ascension Parish: 

  1. Nicholas Narcisse, 1456 Airline Hwy Gonzales, LA, age 28, pled guilty to Illegal Carrying of Weapons and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
  1. Javon Singleton, 41103 Chick Duplessis Rd. Gonzales, LA, age 18, pled guilty to Simple Burglary and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
  1. Samuel Gibson, 2038 Arizona St. Baton Rouge, LA, age 54, pled guilty to DWI 3rd Offense and Public Intimidation. The defendant was sentenced to 6 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 5 years supervised probation. 

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Brant Mayer and Phil Maples. Presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Cody Martin. 

  1. Cornelius Arbuthnot, 13 Elbow Lane Natchez, MS, age 38, pled guilty to Theft Valued at $1,000 or More, but Less than $5,000 and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 2 years supervised probation.                                                                              
  2. David Bryant, 2301 St. Bernard St. Thibodaux, LA, age 55, pled guilty to Simple Burglary and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. Jennifer Hotopp, 16500 Airport Dr. Prairieville, LA, age 49, pled guilty to Unauthorized Entry of an Inhabited Dwelling and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
  1. Alexis Johnson, 83902 Jones St. Baton Rouge, LA, age 30, pled guilty to Simple Burglary and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
  1. Aaliyah Dunn, 301 West 6th Donaldsonville, LA, age 26, pled guilty to Inciting a Riot and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
  1. Aerial Dunn, 800 Riverview Complex Donaldsonville, LA, age 30, pled guilty to Inciting a Riot and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
  1. Tracy Mayo, 41174 Hwy 933 Prairieville, LA, age 51, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and Simple Burglary (3 counts). The defendant was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. Samuel Sanchez, Sorrento, LA, age 23, pled guilty to Simple Criminal Damage to Property Valued at $1,000 or More, but Less than $50,000 and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
  1. Jeremy Tucker, 107 Bayou Blue Bypass Rd. Gray, LA, age 38, pled guilty to Theft Valued at $1,000 or More, but Less than $5,000 and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
  1. Brian Williams, 33540 Bowie St. White Castle, LA, age 58, pled guilty to Monetary Instrument Abuse and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
  1. Joshua Blanchard, 40191 Black Bayou Ext. Gonzales, LA, age 35, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance. The defendant was sentenced to 7 ½ years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. Jacoby Green, 3166 Mt Bethel Lane Donaldsonville, LA, age 25, pled guilty to Illegal Use of Weapons or Dangerous Instrumentalities and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 2 years supervised probation. 

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Philip Prescott, and presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Jason Verdigets. 

Assumption Parish: 

  1. Demone Jones, 1623 Jill St. Donaldsonville, LA, age 26, pled guilty to Distribution, Manufacture, or Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
  1. Gerald Jones, 131 Belle Point Lane Napoleonville, LA, age 40, pled guilty to Aggravated Assault with a Firearm (2 counts) and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. It was ordered that 18 months of the said sentence are to be served, and the remaining 3 ½ years are to be suspended. Upon release from incarceration, the defendant is to be placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
  1. Omerion Watts, 1606 W Paris St. Gonzales, LA, age 21, pled guilty to Aggravated Battery and was sentenced to 10 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. It was ordered that 5 years of the said sentence are to be served, and the remaining 5 years are to be suspended. Upon release from incarceration, the defendant is to be placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
  1. Elton Ryder, Port Barre, LA, age 42, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 1 year with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 1-year supervised probation. 
  1. Marquis Williams, 151 Marshall Lane Napoleonville, LA, age 21, pled guilty to Felony Carnal Knowledge of a Juvenile (2 counts) and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 2 years supervised probation. The defendant must also to register and notify as a sex offender for a period of 15 years. 
  1. Ashanti Ward, 308 Hwy 998 Belle Rose, LA, age 22, pled guilty to Simple Criminal Damage to Property Valued at $1,000 or More, but Less than $50,000 and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Lana Chaney, and presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge John Smith. 

St. James Parish: 

  1. Wayne Johnson, 102 West St. Garyville, LA, age 44, pled guilty to Looting and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
  1. Taraneka Boudreaux, 3201 Antioch St. Paulina, LA, age 31, pled guilty to Theft Valued at $5,000 or More, but Less than $25,000. The defendant was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.
