SERVING ASCENSION, ASSUMPTION & ST. JAMES PARISHES

During the week of November 6 – November 10, 2023, the following defendants pled guilty to various charges and were sentenced in the 23rd Judicial District Court, parishes of Ascension, Assumption, and St. James.

Ascension Parish: 

    1. Carol George, 7009 Gillen St. Metairie, LA, age 28, pled guilty to Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule IV Controlled Dangerous Substance, Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance, Possession of a Schedule III Controlled Dangerous Substance, and Possession of a Schedule IV Controlled Dangerous Substance (2 counts). The defendant was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.  
    1. Sean Murphy, 13200 Depen St. Gonzales, LA, age 20, pled guilty to Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance and Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance. The defendant was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
    1. Cole Villineuve, 16415 Chris Dr. Prairieville, LA, age 29, pled guilty to Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 10 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. It was ordered that 2 years of the said sentence are to be served, and the remaining 8 years are to be suspended. Upon release from incarceration, the defendant is to be placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
    1. Justin Daniels, 9454 Williams Rd. Gonzales, LA, age 25, pled guilty to Illegal Carrying of Weapons and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.
    2. Felicia Corretjer, 16098 Bluff Rd. Prairieville, LA, age 37, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule IV Controlled Dangerous Substance, Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance, Flight from an Officer, Theft Valued at $1,000 or More, but Less than $5,000, and Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle. The defendant was sentenced to 48 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 36 months supervised probation.

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Charles “Chuck” Long and Robin O’Bannon. Presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Tess Stromberg. 

Assumption Parish: 

  1. Jeremy Jordan, 3906 Hwy 70 Pierre Part, LA, age 45, pled guilty to Failure to Register and Notify as a Sex Offender or Child Predator and Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance. The defendant was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  2. Aaron Henry, 2127 Audubon Ave. Thibodaux, LA, age 28, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 18 months supervised probation. 
  3. Paula Vedros, 3219 Hwy 308 Napoleonville, LA, age 55, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 18 months supervised probation. 
  4. Tyrel Marshall, 10151 Curran Rd. New Orleans, LA, age 21, pled guilty to Illegal Possession of Stolen Firearms and was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  5. Charles Barbier, 127 Cypress St. Pierre Part, LA, age 41, pled guilty to Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  6. Shannon Bias, 508 College St. Napoleonville, LA, age 32, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  7. Hector Pina, 118 Pin Oak St. Labadieville, LA, age 28, pled guilty to Failure to Register and Notify as a Sex Offender or Child Predator and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Thomas Daigle, and presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Steven Tureau. 

St. James Parish: 

  1. Mitchell Gros, 1347 Lutcher Ave Lutcher, LA, age 63, pled guilty to Attempted Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance. The defendant was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.
