SERVING ASCENSION, ASSUMPTION & ST. JAMES PARISHES

During the week of October 23 – October 27, 2023, the following defendants pled guilty to various charges and were sentenced in the 23rd Judicial District Court, parishes of Ascension, Assumption, and St. James.

Ascension Parish: 

  1. Oscar Banks, 5044 Prescott Rd. Baton Rouge, LA, age 41, pled guilty to Theft of a Motor Vehicle and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 

The above case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Phil Maples, and presiding over this matter was the Honorable Judge Cody Martin. 

Assumption Parish: 

  1. Trayon Boatner, 3021 Hwy 1 Labadieville, LA, age 29, pled guilty to Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon (2 counts), Public Intimidation (4 counts), and Possession of a Schedule III Controlled Dangerous Substance. The defendant was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. Zorah Bourgeois, 840 Hwy 304 Thibodaux, LA, age 30, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and Possession of a Schedule IV Controlled Dangerous Substance. The defendant was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 2 years supervised probation. 
  1. Tyqavis Knockum, 3374 Hwy 1 Napoleonville, LA, age 21, pled guilty to Illegal Use of Weapons or Dangerous Instrumentalities and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 2 years supervised probation. 
  1. Lysa Fabre, 207 Murial St. Morgan City, LA, age 37, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and Operating a Vehicle without Properly Lit Lamps for Conditions. The defendant was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 18 months supervised probation. 
  1. Nicole Hampton, 121 Fourth St. Houma, LA, age 36, pled guilty to Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Lana Chaney, and presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Melvin Zeno. 

  1. Hobie Hebert, 144 Paul St. Pierre Part, LA, age 26, pled guilty to DWI 1st Offense and Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance. The defendant was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 24 months supervised probation. 
  1. Heather Williamson, 262 Hwy 401 Napoleonville, LA, age 41, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 18 months supervised probation. 
  1. Deven Cox, 102 Sycamore St. Labadieville, LA, age 28, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 18 months supervised probation. 
  1. Sarah Scully, 102 Moffett Ct. Morgan City, LA, age 45, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 18 months supervised probation. 
  1. Buddy Bourgeois, 107 Timothy St. Pierre Part, LA, age 53, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 18 months supervised probation. 
  1. Freddie Allen, 706 Railroad Ave. Donaldsonville, LA, age 37, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Thomas Daigle, and presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Jason Verdigets.
