During the week of February 19 – February 23, 2024, the following defendants pled guilty to various charges and were sentenced in the 23rd Judicial District Court, parishes of Ascension, Assumption, and St. James.

Ascension Parish: 

  1. Albert Curry, 12400 Jefferson Hwy Baton Rouge, LA, age 35, pled guilty to Organized Retail Theft and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 2 years supervised probation. 
  1. Spendrele Davis, 412 E Josephine St. Gonzales, LA, age 30, pled guilty to Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance (2 counts) and Theft Valued Over $5,000, but Less than $25,000. The defendant was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 18 months supervised probation. 
  1. Kajuan Thompson, 709 S Pleasant St. Gonzales, LA, age 25, pled guilty to Illegal Use of Weapons or Dangerous Instrumentalities and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 2 years supervised probation. 
  1. Elizabeth Reed, 228 E Sister St. Shreveport, LA, age 27, pled guilty to Theft Valued at $1,000 or More, but Less than $5,000 and was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 18 months supervised probation. 
  1. Dana Bladsacker, 1124 Arceneaux St. Gonzales, LA, age 43, pled Guilty to Theft and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 2 years supervised probation. 
  1. D’Kolby Kennard, 16873 Vermillion Dr. Baton Rouge, LA, age 24, pled guilty to Obscenity and was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. Frank Lucia, Donaldsonville, LA, age 39, pled guilty to Theft Valued Over $1,000, but Less than $5,000. The defendant was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. Jaheim Miller, 1419 W Worthey Rd. Gonzales, LA, age 21, pled guilty to Domestic Abuse Battery, Possession of a Schedule IV Controlled Dangerous Substance, and Aggravated Assault with a Firearm. The defendant was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
  1. Colby Templet, 3413 Hwy 1 S Donaldsonville, LA, age 36, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, and Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance. The defendant was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. Alizante Patterson, 187 A Grissaffe Lane Belle Rose, LA, age 23, pled guilty to Battery of a Police Officer While in Custody or Detained (2 counts) and Resisting an Officer with Force or Violence. The defendant was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
  1. Phillip Rome, 101 Marcello St. Donaldsonville, LA, age 33, pled guilty to Unlawful Presence of a Sex Offender and Failure to Register and Notify as a Sex Offender (2 counts). The defendant was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. Billy Womack, 380 Kathleen Dr. Ponchatoula, LA, age 65, pled guilty to Residential Contractor Fraud and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Leila Braswell, Kenneth Dupaty, and Jeff Heggelund. Presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Keyojuan Turner.

Assumption Parish: 

  1. Meghann Scarbrough, 1098 Hwy 662 Bayou L’Ourse, LA, age 35, pled guilty to Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. Constance Bertrand, 14088 Bert Allen Rd. Gonzales, LA, age 35, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule IV Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. Brett Guillory, 133 Felicia St. Morgan City, LA, age 27, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 1 year with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. Damian Cedotal, 5828 Hwy 1 Napoleonville, LA, age 44, pled guilty to Illegal Carrying of Weapons and Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance. The defendant was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 18 months supervised probation. 
  1. Stanley Feist III, 1231 ½ Doode St. Houma, LA, age 20, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 18 months supervised probation.

  1. Kevin Anderson, 152 Hwy 1011 Napoleonville, LA, age 36, pled guilty to Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. Mark McLaughlin, 19046 Willie Lane Livingston, LA, age 43, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 18 months supervised probation.

St. James Parish: 

  1. Randy Nicholas, 12 Milton Rd. Pensacola, FL, age 58, pled guilty to Forcible Rape and was sentenced to 25 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. Upon release from incarceration, the defendant must register and notify as a sex offender or child predator for life.
