SERVING ASCENSION, ASSUMPTION & ST. JAMES PARISHES

During the week of March 4 – March 8, 2024, the following defendants pled guilty to various charges and were sentenced in the 23rd Judicial District Court, parishes of Ascension, Assumption, and St. James.

Ascension Parish: 

  1. Kelsey Dupuy, 43279 Elmo Cannon Rd. Gonzales, LA, age 26, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule IV Controlled Dangerous Substance, Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance (3 counts), and Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle. The defendant was sentenced to 1 year with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. Quanmaine Scott, 37113 White Rd. Prairieville, LA, age 36, pled guilty to Unauthorized Entry of a Business Place, Theft Valued at $1,000 or More, but Less than $5,000, Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance (2 counts), Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance, and Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance. The defendant was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. Matthew Anders, 22720 Blakney Lane Plaquemine, LA, age 35, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 24 months supervised probation. 
  1. Gregory Bailey, 38532 Darville Rd. Prairieville, LA, age 57, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance (2 counts) and was sentenced to 24 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 36 months supervised probation.
  2. Tina Richardson, 6012 4th Merryville, LA, age 57, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance (2 counts) and was sentenced to 36 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 36 months supervised probation. 
  1. Coray Smith, 5077 Galaxy Blvd. Darrow, LA, age 21, pled guilty to Illegal Carrying of Weapons in the Presence of a Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 10 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
  1. Devron Vallery, 822 E Hamilton St. Gonzales, LA, age 51, pled guilty to Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance (2 counts) and was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. April Weaver, 43264 Moody Dixon Rd. Prairieville, LA, age 43, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. Travis Collins, 7521 Cherrybank Oak Dr. Gonzales, LA, age 35, pled guilty to Introduction or Possession of Contraband into a Penal Institution (3 counts) and was sentenced to 4 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. Gregory Cato, 40290 Toby Rd. Gonzales, LA, age 50, pled guilty to Obstruction of Justice and Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance. The defendant was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. Yvonne Carrizales, 14180 Hwy 44 Gonzales, LA, age 65, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 18 months supervised probation. 
  1. Damon Felton, 9292 Water Tower St. Convent, LA, age 61, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 12 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 24 months supervised probation. 
  1. Percell Gomez, 104 Oakridge Ave. Donaldsonville, LA, age 43, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 1 year with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. Lajuan Martin, 41149 LA 42 Prairieville, LA, age 23, pled guilty to Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance and Illegal Carrying of Weapons in the Presence of a Controlled Dangerous Substance. The defendant was sentenced to 7 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
  1. Katherine Oliver, 17121 Summer Dr. Prairieville, LA, age 58, pled guilty to Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule III Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 18 months supervised probation.

 Dorian Richard, 3310 Danneel St. New Orleans, LA, age 25, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule IV Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 18 months supervised probation. 

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Charles “Chuck” Long and Robin O’Bannon. Presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge James Kuhn. 

Assumption Parish: 

  1. On December 4, 2023. Ricky Williams of 121 Oak St. Labadieville, LA, age 22, pled guilty to Felony Carnal Knowledge of a Juvenile. Sentencing was deferred to a later date pending a Pre-Sentence Investigation. On March 4, 2024, Williams was sentenced to 10 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. It was ordered that 3 years of the said sentence are to be served, and the remaining 7 years are to be suspended. Upon release from incarceration, the defendant is to be placed on 3 years supervised probation. In addition, Williams must register and notify as a sex offender or child predator for a period of 25 years. 

The above case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Thomas Daigle, and presiding over this matter was the Honorable Judge Steven Tureau. 

St. James Parish: 

  1. Javeon Stockman, 14425 Hwy 77 Rosedale, LA, age 19, pled guilty to Unauthorized Entry of an Inhabited Dwelling and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 2 years supervised probation. 
  1. Darryl Geason, 264 Oak St. Gramercy, LA, age 49, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 2 years supervised probation. 

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Adam Koenig, and presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Cody Martin. 

  1. Steven Duhone, 444 NW 3rd Reserve, LA, age 43, pled guilty to Theft Valued at $1,000 or More, but Less than $5,000. The defendant was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 2 years supervised probation. 
  1. Craig Herbert, 211 Lucky St. Plattenville, LA, age 33, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule V Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 2 years supervised probation. 
  1. Herman Washington III, 3103 Washington St. Paulina, LA, age 36, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and DWI 1st The defendant was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
  1. William Johnson III, 2571 Lionel Washington St. Lutcher, LA, age 55, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 18 months supervised probation. 
  1. James Perkins, 2911 S Hodgeson Ave Gonzales, LA, age 37, pled guilty to Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 2 years supervised probation.
