SERVING ASCENSION, ASSUMPTION & ST. JAMES PARISHES

During the week of September 2 – September 6, 2024, the following defendants pled guilty to various charges and were sentenced in the 23rd Judicial District Court, parishes of Ascension, Assumption, and St. James.

Ascension Parish: 

  1. Earl Crum, 18267 Oak Harbor Extension Prairieville, LA, age 62, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. Brandon Kennedy, 18007 Grace St. Prairieville, LA, age 35, pled guilty to Illegal Carrying of Weapons/Possession of Controlled Dangerous Substance and Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance. The defendant was sentenced to 24 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 36 months supervised probation. 
  1. Stephan Massey, 7680 Vincent Rd. New Orleans, LA, age 31, pled guilty to Illegal Carrying of Weapons/Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
  1. Cornell Cornish, 5855 Walnut Creek Rd. New Orleans, LA, age 23, pled guilty to Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. Latoya Beckett, 37191 Hwy 621 Prairieville, LA, age 40, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. Tevrion Carter, 1303 S Shirley Ave Gonzales, LA, age 31, pled guilty to Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
  1. Leticia Hannah, 3857 Darville Rd. Prairieville, LA, age 49, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
  1. Jacien Belezaire, 14086 Airline Hwy Gonzales, LA, age 39, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule V Controlled Dangerous Substance and Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance. The defendant was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
  1. Dexter Brown, 1118 S Vista Ave Gonzales, LA, age 31, pled guilty to Illegal Carrying of Weapons and Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance. The defendant was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 30 months supervised probation. 

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Charles “Chuck” Long, Robin O’Bannon, and Kristin Tregre. Presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge John Smith. 

Assumption Parish: 

  1. Jeremy Dixon, 1037 Ridgefield Rd. Thibodaux, LA, age 43, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. Ricky Foret Jr., age 45, pled guilty to Unauthorized Entry of an Inhabited Dwelling and was sentenced to 1 year with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. Jamison Beals, 100 AB Martin Rd. Jeanerette, LA, age 22, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance. The defendant was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
  1. Quincy Johnson, 821 South Beulah St. Eunice, LA, age 30, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Thomas Daigle, and presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Steven Tureau. 

St. James Parish: 

  1. Ricky Keller Jr., 1310 N Ezidore St. Gramercy, LA, age 30, pled guilty to Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and was sentenced to 7 ½ years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. Marcus Thomas, 2344 Chicago Dr. Vacherie, LA, age 38, pled guilty to Attempted Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
  1. Quindel Jones, 10488 Legion St. Convent, LA, age 33, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance (2 counts) and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 2 years supervised probation.
