SERVING ASCENSION, ASSUMPTION & ST. JAMES PARISHES

During the week of August 26 – August 30, 2024, the following defendants pled guilty to various charges and were sentenced in the 23rd Judicial District Court, parishes of Ascension, Assumption, and St. James.

Ascension Parish: 

  1. Nyjohn Henry, 15012 Jefferson Hwy Baton Rouge, LA, age 20, pled guilty to Possession of Marijuana 3rd Offense and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
  1. Tanya Green, 11641 Sherwood Hollow Ct. Baton Rouge, LA, age 51, pled guilty to Theft Valued at $1,000 or More, but Less than $5,000 and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Brant Mayer and Phil Maples. Presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Cody Martin. 

Assumption Parish: 

  1. Florian Metrejean, Morgan City, LA, age 52, pled guilty to Distribution of a Schedule III Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. Bruce Fair Jr., 3386 Back Marais Ln. Napoleonville, LA, age 27, pled guilty to Attempted Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Aggravated Criminal Damage to Property, and Aggravated Assault with a Firearm. The defendant was sentenced to 7 years with the Louisianan Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
  1. Lil Ceasar Queen, 112 Park Ave Thibodaux, LA, age 43, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 1-year supervised probation. 

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Lana Chaney, and presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Keyojuan Turner. 

St. James Parish: 

  1. Kevin Olinde, 703 Hickory St. Thibodaux, LA, age 50, pled guilty to Aggravated Assault with a Firearm and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 

The above case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Adam Koenig, and presiding over this matter was the Honorable Judge Thomas Kliebert.
