Convent Woman Sentenced to 30 Years following Child Porn Investigation

On July 21, 2025, Destinee Poche of 9282 Central Project St. Convent, LA, age 25, pled guilty to Possession of Pornography Involving Juveniles (13 counts) and Distribution of Pornography Involving Juveniles (3 counts). Assistant District Attorney Bruce Mohon was the lead prosecutor on this case, and presiding over this matter was the Honorable Judge Jason Verdigets.

On May 3, 2024, special agents of the Louisiana Bureau of Investigations Cyber Crime Unit received cybertips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children which contained information regarding the possible possession, manufacture, and distribution of child pornography. During the course of this investigation, agents were able to conclude that Destinee Poche did upload, distribute, and possess numerous images and videos containing child pornography via electronic device and social media platforms. Agents obtained an arrest warrant for Poche who was apprehended and booked into the St. James Parish Jail on March 17, 2025.

Upon entering a guilty plea to the above-mentioned charges, sentencing was deferred to a later date pending a Pre-Sentence Investigation.

On Monday, Destinee Poche appeared before Judge Verdigets for sentencing. Poche was sentenced to 30 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. The said sentence is to be served without benefit of parole, probation, or suspension of sentence. Upon release from incarceration, Poche must register and notify as a sex offender or child predator for the remainder of her natural life.
