SERVING ASCENSION, ASSUMPTION & ST. JAMES PARISHES

During the week of September 15 – September 19, 2025, the following defendants pled guilty to various charges and were sentenced in the 23rd Judicial District Court, parishes of Ascension, Assumption, and St. James.

Ascension Parish:  

  1. Gregory Stokes, 13387 Bourgeois Rd. Gonzales, LA, age 35, pled guilty to Battery of a Dating Partner, Home Invasion, Possession of Fentanyl, Possession of Heroin, and Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance. Sentencing was deferred to a later date pending a Pre-Sentence Investigation.  
  1. Kifton Lewis, 810 E Hamilton St. Gonzales, LA, age 30, pled guilty to Distribution, Manufacture, or Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance, Aggravated Flight from an Officer (2 counts), Aggravated Assault Upon a Peace Officer, and Aggravated Obstruction of a Highway Commerce. Sentencing was deferred to a later date pending a Pre-Sentence Investigation.  

The above cases were prosecuted by First Assistant District Attorney Charles “Chuck” Long, and presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge John Smith. 

  1. Gary Bamburg, 203 E Wyandotte St. Shreveport, LA, age 53, pled guilty to Theft Valued at $1,000 or More, but Less than $5,000 and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. Lori Stiles, 3818 Hwy 44 Paulina, LA, age 58, pled guilty to Theft Valued at $1,000 or More, but Less than $5,000 and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 2 years supervised probation.                                                                                                                     
  2. Lacarla Nicholas, Donaldsonville, LA, age 31, pled guilty to Bank Fraud and was sentenced to 10 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 5 years supervised probation. 
  1. Lance Dupuy, 43291 Elmo Cannon Rd. Gonzales, LA, age 46, pled guilty to Illegal Possession of Stolen Things Valued at $1,000 or More, but Less than $5,000 and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
  1. Jauvon Cook, 43523 Hwy 621 Gonzales, LA, age 22, pled guilty to Simple Robbery and was sentenced to 4 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
  1. Cortez Joseph, 43523 Hwy 621 Gonzales, LA, age 23, pled guilty to Simple Robbery and was sentenced to 7 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 5 years supervised probation. 
  1. Devron Dundas, 118 Rochon Lane Saint Martinville, LA, age 28, pled guilty to Theft Valued at $5,000 or More, but Less than $25,000 and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 5 years supervised probation. 
  1. Russell Simpson, 37084 White Rd. Prairieville, LA, age 42, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and Simple Robbery. The defendant was sentenced to 7 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 5 years supervised probation. 
  1. Leeann Yammarino, 16420 Parker Place Dr. Prairieville, LA, age 44, pled No Contest to Indecent Behavior with a Juvenile (4 counts). Sentencing was deferred to a later date pending a Pre-Sentence Investigation. 
  1. Detrae Alexander, 1534 Old Vacherie St. Vacherie, LA, age 26, pled guilty to Illegal Possession of a Stolen Firearm and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.  
  1. John Gettridge, 23388 Ruger Dr. Denham Springs, LA, age 38, pled guilty to Distribution, Manufacture, or Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule IV Controlled Dangerous Substance and Attempted Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. The defendant was sentenced to 8 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 5 years supervised probation. 
  1. Kentrell Forcell, 206 Village Circle Donaldsonville, LA, age 38, pled guilty to Attempted Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance. The defendant was sentenced to 7 ½ years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 5 years supervised probation. 
  1. D’Miaya Perkins, 1444 Firethorn Dr. Baton Rouge, LA, age 23, pled guilty to Simple Criminal Damage to Property Valued at $1,000 or More, but Less than $50,000 and was sentenced to 1 year with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 1-year supervised probation. 

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Leila Braswell, and presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Keyojuan Turner. 

  1. Aniyah Capers, 2131 N 16th Baton Rouge, LA, age 21. Pled guilty to Unlawful Handling of Machine Guns, Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance, and Illegal Use/Possession/Control of Weapons. The defendant was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. Terry Carey, 2163 S Veterans Blvd. Gonzales, LA, age 37, pled guilty to Sexual Battery and was sentenced to 1 year with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. Upon release from incarceration, the defendant will be required to register and notify as a sex offender. 
  1. Heather Daigle, 7857 First St. Addis, LA, age 41, pled guilty to Identity Theft and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
  1. Amber Evridge, 2208 S Magnolia Dr. Baker, LA, age 34, pled guilty to Theft of a Motor Vehicle and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 2 years supervised probation. 
  1. Jeremy Hobgood, 8805 Loudon Lane Baker, LA, age 45, pled guilty to Simple Burglary (3 counts) and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. Marcus Jones, 1104 Peytavin St. Donaldsonville, LA, age 54, pled guilty to Unauthorized Use of a Movable and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. Ja’Jky Joshua, 5200 Galaxy Blvd. Darrow, LA, age 21, pled guilty to 2nd Degree Battery and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. Frederick Lake, 16497 Jefferson Oaks Dr. Prairieville, LA, age 37, pled guilty to Possession of Pornography Involving Juveniles (4 counts) and Possession of Pornography Involving Juveniles Under the age of 13 (15 counts). Sentencing was deferred to a later date pending a Pre-Sentence Investigation. 
  1. George LeBlanc, 1909 N Airline Hwy Gonzales, LA, age 48, pled guilty to Home Invasion and was sentenced to 10 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. It was ordered that 1 year of the said sentence is to be served, and the remaining 9 years are to be suspended. Upon release from incarceration, the defendant is to be placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
  1. Jayden McConnell, 8379 Hackberry St. Sorrento, LA, age 21, pled guilty to Possession of Pornography Involving Juveniles (20 counts) and was sentenced to 15 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. Upon release from incarceration, the defendant must register and notify as a sex offender or child predator for a period of 25 years. 
  1. Dwight Perrilloux, 37214 St. Marie Ave. Prairieville, LA, age 30, pled guilty to Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. Joshua Rogers, 5722 Perry Lane Lake Charles, LA, age 30, pled guilty to Battery of Emergency Room Personnel, Emergency Services Personnel, or a Healthcare Professional (2 counts) and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
  1. Terrance Maye, 1322 N Willow Ave Gonzales, LA, age 26, pled guilty to Simple Robbery and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 5 years supervised probation. 
  1. Jerold Washington, 413 E Oak Haven Gonzales, LA, age 39, pled guilty to Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. Sentencing was deferred to a later date pending a Pre-Sentence Investigation. 
  1. Richard Wilson, 42140 Shadow Creek Ave. Gonzales, LA, age 44, pled guilty to Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated 3rd Sentencing was deferred to a later date pending a Pre-Sentence Investigation. 

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Adam Koenig and Lana Chaney. Presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Steven Tureau. 

Assumption Parish: 

  1. Jaron Foret, 125 Pond Dr. Morgan City, LA, age 31, pled guilty to Distribution of Heroin and was sentenced to 4 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 

The above case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Thomas Daigle, and presiding over this matter was the Honorable Judge Cody Martin.

St. James Parish: 

  1. On July 21, 2025, Destinee Poche of 9282 Central Project St. Convent, LA, age 25, pled guilty to Possession of Pornography Involving Juveniles (13 counts) and Distribution of Pornography Involving Juveniles (3 counts). Sentencing was deferred to a later date pending a Pre-Sentence Investigation. On September 15, 2025, Poche was sentenced to 30 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. The said sentence is to be served without benefit of parole, probation, or suspension of sentence. Upon release from incarceration, Poche will be required to register and notify as a sex offender or child predator for the remainder of her natural life. 
  1. Travis McCoy, 42049 Weber City Rd. Prairieville, LA, age 37, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance, Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance, and Obstruction of Justice. The defendant was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
  1. Mandy Sharon, 163 N Airline Hwy Gramercy, LA, age 46, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance, Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance, and Obstruction of Justice. The defendant was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
  1. Gerald Foret, 1011 Monroe St. Donaldsonville, LA, age 44, pled guilty to DWI 3rd Offense and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 2 years supervised probation.
