On October 28, 2026, Markus Stadium of 180 Acklen Ave. Houma, LA, age 36, pled guilty as charged to Cruelty to Persons with Infirmities. Stadium was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Lana Chaney, and presiding over this matter is the Honorable Judge Keyojuan Turner.

On October 6, 2025, Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Deputies responded to Our Lady of the Lake Assumption Hospital in reference to the possible abuse of an infirmed individual. Detectives responded and observed burns to various parts of the victim’s body. Detectives obtained evidence and statements including video footage indicating that the victim’s injuries were caused by a caretaker, identified as Markus Stadium.
