In February 2026, agents with the Louisiana Bureau of Investigations received a cyber-tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children identifying transactions with individual identified as juveniles via Cash App. Agents quickly identified the individual orchestrating the Cash App transactions as Tykeim Simoneaux. Through an extensive investigation, agents learned that Simoneaux had actively engaged in explicit contact with multiple juvenile females between the ages of 13 and 16. In exchange for explicit photographs and videos, Simoneaux transferred funds to these juveniles via Cash App. Simoneaux, who was a commissioned St. James Parish Sheriff’s Deputy during the commission of these crimes, was arrested and booked into the St. James Parish Jail.

Upon entering a guilty plea to the above-mentioned charges, sentencing was deferred to a later date pending a Pre-Sentence Investigation. Simoneaux faces decades in state prison. Sentencing is tentatively set for February 22, 2027.
