Assumption Parish Guilty Pleas 3/7/2016

The following defendants pled guilty to various charges and were sentenced in the 23rd Judicial District Court, Assumption Parish on 03/07/2016 before Judge Jessie Leblanc.

1. Brian Metrejean, 148 Marie Court Pierre Part, LA. 70339, 26 years of age, pled guilty to the charge of possession of a schedule II controlled dangerous substance and was sentenced to 18 months to the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served suspended eighteen months supervised probation.

2. Brittany L. Medine, 1201 HWY 70 Lot C Pierre Part, LA. 70339, 32 years of age, pled guilty to the charge of possession of a schedule III controlled dangerous substance and was sentenced to 18 months to the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Thomas D. Daigle.

In other court related matters, one person pled guilty to criminal charges and was sentenced in 23rd Judicial District Court in St. James Parish before Judge Alvin Turner Jr. on 03/07/2016.

1. Joshua Houston, 6216 Burton St. St. James, LA. 70086, 29 years of age, pled guilty to the charge of simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling and was sentenced to 5 years to the Department of Corrections to be suspended and placed on 5 years supervised probation.
