Donaldsonville Man Pleads Guilty to Molestation Charge

On January 23, 2018, Albert Fleming Jr. of 35160 Hwy 1 Donaldsonville, LA., age 33, pled guilty to Molestation of a Juvenile with a Mental or Physical Disability. Fleming was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Joni Buquoi and Shawn Bush. Presiding over this matter was the Honorable Judge Jessie LeBlanc. This guilty plea was the result of a plea agreement with prosecutors following a 2014 sexual assault.

On September 27, 2014, deputies with the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to a Donaldsonville residence in reference to a sexual assault. Upon arrival, deputies learned that Albert Fleming Jr. had committed a sexual act upon a 14-year-old juvenile female who suffers from a mental disability. Detectives were able to gather evidence which supported these allegations. Fleming, who was a registered sex offender at the time of this incident was subsequently arrested and booked into the Ascension Parish Detention Center. Prior to this incident, Fleming served jail time for a 2009 Forcible Rape conviction.

Upon entering a guilty plea to the above-mentioned charge, as per the plea agreement with prosecutors, Judge LeBlanc ordered that Fleming be committed to the Louisiana Department of Corrections for a period of 25 years at hard labor with credit for time served. The said sentence is to be served without benefit of parole, probation, or suspension of sentence. Upon release from incarceration, Fleming must register and notify as a Sex Offender or Child Predator for life. In addition, Fleming is to be monitored electronically by the Louisiana Department of Probation and Parole for life.
