SERVING ASCENSION, ASSUMPTION & ST. JAMES PARISHES

During the Week of August 1 – August 5, 2016, the following defendants pled guilty to various charges and were sentenced in the 23rd Judicial District Court, Parishes of Ascension, Assumption, and St. James

Ascension Parish:

1. Shawn Williams, 1303 S Hempshire Ave. Gonzales, LA., age 31, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 18 months supervised probation.

2. Cory Catanese, 3016 Judy Dr. Meraux, LA., age 24, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous substance and was sentenced to 4 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. It was ordered that the imposed sentence be suspended under the following conditions: The defendant must serve 6 months in the parish jail or complete a court approved substance abuse treatment program. Upon completion, the defendant is to be placed on 4 years supervised probation.

3. Jacob Babin, 14043 Mark St. Gonzales, LA., age 29, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 36 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 36 months supervised probation.

4. Justin Painter, 15147 Stafford Estates Gonzales, LA., age 30, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule III Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 18 months supervised probation.
5. Courtney Belanger, 13471 Adam Templet Rd. Gonzales, LA., age 34, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.

6. Christopher Zeringue, 1204 E Rome St. Gonzales, LA., age 28, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.

7. Jermaine Cole, 204 Church St. Donaldsonville, LA., age 39, pled guilty to Unauthorized Entry of an Inhabited Dwelling and Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance. The defendant was sentenced to 36 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.

8. Bryan Tumey, 18111 Manning Dr. Prairieville, LA., age 38, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule IV Controlled Dangerous Substance, DWI 3rd Offense, Possession of a Schedule IV Controlled Dangerous Substance, and DWI 4th Offense. The defendant was sentenced to 10 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. It was ordered that the defendant serve 2 years of the imposed sentence, and the remaining 8 years be suspended. Upon release, the defendant is to be placed on 8 years supervised probation.

9. Jessica Hall, 10851 Martin Rd. Gonzales, LA., age 30, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and Attempted Theft of a Motor Vehicle. The defendant was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.

10. Lucas Lambert, 17625 Little St. Livingston, LA., age 30, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance, Possession of a Schedule III Controlled Dangerous Substance, and Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle. The defendant was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 18 months supervised probation.

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Charles “Chuck” Long, and Lindsey Manda. The presiding judge was the Honorable Judge Tess Stromberg.
Assumption Parish:

1. Annette Blank, 135 Riverbend St. Pierre Part, LA., age 52, pled guilty to Exploitation of the Infirmed and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.

2. Corey Boudreaux, 1008 Moon St. Breaux Bridge, LA., age 43, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.

3. Jill Wesley, 6727 Hwy 996 Belle Rose, LA., age 30, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 1 year with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Thomas Daigle, and the presiding judge was the Honorable Judge Jessie LeBlanc.

St. James Parish:

1. Stephen Foust, 12468 Fawn Wood Dr. Walker, LA., age 44, pled guilty to Illegal Sale of Forest Products and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 2 years supervised probation.

The above case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Steven Tureau, and the presiding judge was the Honorable Judge Thomas Kliebert.

2. James Musco, 3025 Robin Ln. Donaldsonville, LA., age 36, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 2 years supervised probation.

The above case was prosecuted by Assitant District Attorney Bruce Mohon, and the presiding judge was the Honorable Judge Alvin Turner Jr.
