During the week of August 5 – August 9, 2019, the following defendants pled guilty to various charges and were sentenced in the 23rd Judicial District Court, parishes of Ascension, Assumption, and St. James.

Ascension Parish:

  1. Jason Clifton, 6834 HWY 1 Donaldsonville, LA., age 37, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule IV Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 1 year with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
  2. Cameron Kennedy, 16385 Live Oak Dr. Prairieville, LA., age 19, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and Possession of Marijuana. The defendant was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 18 months supervised probation.
  3. Hunter Heap, 11078 Stringer Bridge Rd. St. Amant, LA., age 38, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 24 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 24 months supervised probation.
  4. Tiffany Stafford, 9474 Deer Path Dr. Denham Springs, LA., age 36, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule IV Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 18 months supervised probation.  
  5. Jerald Wall, 304 E Caldwell St. Gonzales, LA., age 33, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 12 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 12 months supervised probation.
  6. Amanda Deslatte, 13029 Babin Rd. Gonzales, LA., age 35, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 12 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 24 months supervised probation.
  7. Byron Collins Sr., 1715 Loretta St. Gonzales, LA., age 56, pled guilty to Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance and Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance. The defendant was sentenced to 36 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 36 months supervised probation.
  8. Raelynn Johnson, 39209 Vindez Rd. Gonzales, LA., age 27, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance (2 counts) and was sentenced to 36 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 36 months supervised probation.
  9. Eric Kirkland, 8227 Cottonwood St. Sorrento, LA., age 30, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule III Controlled Dangerous Substance and Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance. The defendant was sentenced to 12 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 12 months supervised probation.
  10. Kelly Hernandez, 16381 Pailette St. Prairieville, LA., age 27, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance, Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance, Possession of Synthetic Cannabinoids, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. The defendant was sentenced to 1 year with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
  11. Mark Danburg, 14419 Hwy 431 St. Amant, LA., age 52, pled guilty to Conspiracy to Commit Distribution of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and Possession of a Schedule IV Controlled Dangerous Substance. The defendant was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 36 months supervised probation.
  12. Michael Chatman Jr., 12073 Roddy Rd. Gonzales, LA., age 39, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.
  13. Tristan Eugene, 42306 Bayou Narcisse Rd. Gonzales, LA., age 23, pled guilty to Illegal Possession of Stolen Firearms, Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule IV Controlled Dangerous Substance, Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance, and Possession of Marijuana. The defendant was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Charles “Chuck” Long, and presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Tess Stromberg.

 

Assumption Parish:

  1. Rico Lang, 118 Howard Lane Napoleonville, LA., age 28, pled guilty to Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance (2 counts) and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
  2. Kay Michel, 109 Elaine St. Morgan City, LA., age 39, pled guilty to Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Thomas Daigle, and presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Jessie LeBlanc.

 

St. James Parish:

  1. Patrick Sheppard, 5407 Barras St. St. James, LA., age 57, pled guilty to DWI 3rd Offense. Sentencing was deferred to a later date pending a Pre-Sentence Investigation.

The above case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Bruce Mohon, and presiding over this matter was the Honorable Judge Alvin Turner Jr.

  1. Benedict Ingram, 13193 Sycamore St. Vacherie, LA., age 25, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
  2. Jarred Jasmin, 3275 Harrison St. Vacherie, LA., age 29, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 2 years supervised probation.
  3. Lionel Felton, 8124 Pleasant Hill St. Convent, LA., age 52, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
