SERVING ASCENSION, ASSUMPTION & ST. JAMES PARISHES

During the week of January 4 – January 8, 2021, the following defendants pled guilty to various charges and were sentenced in the 23rd Judicial District Court, parishes of Ascension, Assumption, and St. James.

Ascension Parish: 

  1. Jacee James, 39366 Hwy 621 Gonzales, LA., age 29, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and Simple Battery. The defendant was sentenced to 4 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
  2. Tiffini Templet, 13350 JB Templet Rd. Gonzales, LA., age 39, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Charles “Chuck” Long and Robin O’Bannon. Presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Tess Stromberg.

Assumption Parish:

Assumption Parish had no court news to report this week.

St. James Parish:

  1. Joseph Clawson, 187 Rue St. Martin St. Vacherie, LA., age 29, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 2 years supervised probation.
  2. Christopher Frasier, 101 Church Hill St. LaPlace, LA., age 43, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and Monetary Instrument Abuse. The defendant was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 2 years supervised probation.

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Adam Koenig, and presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Cody Martin.
