SERVING ASCENSION, ASSUMPTION & ST. JAMES PARISHES

During the week of January 6 – January 10, 2020, the following defendants pled guilty to various charges and were sentenced in the 23rd Judicial District Court, parishes of Ascension, Assumption, and St. James.

Ascension Parish:

  1. Jordan Diez, 37113 White Rd. Prairieville, LA., age 24, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 24 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 36 months supervised probation.
  2. Kimberly Roddy, 43276 Moody Dixon Rd. Prairieville, LA., age 33, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance. The defendant was sentenced to 12 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
  3. Tiffany Sparlin, 37048 Hwy 741 Geismar, LA., age 26, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule IV Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 36 months supervised probation.
  4. Emanuel Guerra, 41140 Fifth Colonial St. Prairieville, LA., age 39, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 18 months supervised probation.  
  5. Ashley Garrett, 1671 Oak Ridge Rd. Prairieville, LA., age 29, pled guilty to Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and Illegal Carrying of Weapons. The defendant was sentenced to 8 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
  6. Torrie Lacey, 43204 Hwy 933 Prairieville, LA., age 38, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 12 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
  7. Jimmy Humphrey Sr., 25174 Hwy 22 Maurepas, LA., age 55, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule IV Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 24 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 24 months supervised probation.
  8. Lucas Soileau, 37313 Hwy 74 Geismar, LA., age 39, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance (2 counts) and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
  9. Donald Lassetter, 13390 JB Templet Rd. Gonzales, LA., age 35, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule IV Controlled Dangerous Substance, Illegal Carrying of Weapons, Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Simple Criminal Trespass. The defendant was sentenced to 36 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 36 months supervised probation.
  10. Randal Millet Jr., 4403 Tibb St. Shreveport, LA., age 33, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance (2 counts), and Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance. The defendant was sentenced to 1 year with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
  11. Joseph Hernandez, 12376 Hackberry Lane Geismar, LA., age 32, pled guilty to Failure to Comply with Provisions of Supervised Release and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  12. Kayal Deloch, 217 N Marchand Ave. Gonzales, LA., age 23, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and Possession of Marijuana. The defendant was sentenced to 1 year with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Charles “Chuck” Long and Robin O’Bannon. Presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Tess Stromberg.

Assumption Parish:

  1. Gage Dudek, 504 Walker Dr. Houma, LA., age 21, pled guilty to First Degree Vehicular Negligent Injuring. Sentencing was deferred to a later date pending a Pre-Sentence Investigation.
  2. Martell Telfair, 6672 Hwy 308 Belle Rose, LA., age 36, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance. Sentencing was deferred to a later date pending a pre-sentence investigation.
  3. Ricky Bolden, 6040 Hwy 308 Paincourtville, LA., age 49, pled guilty to Cruelty to the Infirmed and was sentenced to 1 year in the parish jail with credit for time served. The said sentence is to be served without benefit of parole, probation, or suspension of sentence.

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Thomas Daigle, and presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Jessie LeBlanc.

St. James Parish: 

  1. On January 8, 2020, Jason Hines of 19439 Harry Town Lane Vacherie, LA., age 44, pled guilty to DWI 4th or Subsequent Offense. Sentencing was deferred to a later date pending a Pre-Sentence Investigation.
  2. Jared Chauvin, 312 Tania St. Gramercy, LA., age 32, pled guilty to Simple Burglary and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
  3. Nicholas Narcisse, 2214 Project Dr. Vacherie, LA., age 22, pled guilty to Theft of a Firearm and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
