SERVING ASCENSION, ASSUMPTION & ST. JAMES PARISHES

During the week of July 16-July 20, 2018, the following defendants pled guilty to various charges and were sentenced in the 23rd Judicial District Court, parishes of Ascension, Assumption, and St. James.

Ascension Parish: 

  1. Cayden Cockerham, 37313 Hwy 74 Geismar, LA., age 18, pled guilty to Simple Burglary and was sentenced to 8 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.
  2. Amanda Davis, 11046 Rip Duplessis Rd. Gonzales, LA., age 27, pled guilty to Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 10 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.
  3. Brandon Jackson, 12424 Warfield Ave. Baton Rouge, LA., age 33, pled guilty to Theft of a Motor Vehicle and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
  4. Tristan Tero, 21265 Walker South Rd. Denham Springs, LA., age 33, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 2 years supervised probation.
  5. Mark Johnson, 2223 Sagona Ln. Donaldsonville, LA., age 42, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 1 year with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Kenneth Dupaty and Steven Tureau. Presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Alvin Turner Jr.

  1. James David, 42320 Black Bayou Rd. Gonzales, LA., age 18, pled guilty to Simple Burglary and was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 18 months supervised probation.
  2. Heather King, Houston, TN., age 27, pled guilty to Simple Burglary of an Inhabited Dwelling and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
  3. Jamie Dixon, 18123 John Broussard Rd. Prairieville, LA., age 28, pled guilty to Aggravated Battery and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
  4. Denzell Lewis, 108 Marshall Ln. Napoleonville, LA., age 32, pled guilty to Felony Theft and was sentenced to 4 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
  5. Nicholas Scott, 40136 Dove Estate Ct. Gonzales, LA., age 21, pled guilty to Simple Burglary and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 18 months supervised probation.
  6. Ryan Falgout, 43512 Talley Rd. Gonzales, LA., age 25, pled guilty to 2nd Degree Battery and was sentenced to 8 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. It was ordered that 4 years of the said sentenced are to be served, and the remaining 4 years are to be suspended. Upon release from incarceration, the defendant is to be placed on 5 years supervised probation.

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Joni Buquoi and Shawn Bush. Presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Jessie LeBlanc.

Assumption Parish:

  1. Donta North, 150 Jacobs St. Napoleonville, LA., age 26, pled guilty to Aggravated Flight from an Officer and was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 18 months supervised probation.
  2. Todd Franklin, 267 Hwy 1003 Belle Rose, LA., age 37, pled guilty to Distribution of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 15 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
  3. William Fontenot Jr. 171 Hwy 663 Morgan City, LA., age 52, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
  4. Tyrell McKinley, 405 Roselawn Ave. Houma, LA., age 19, pled guilty to Aggravated Flight from an Officer and was sentenced to 12 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
  5. Glen Barnes, 6221 Calion Dr. Baton Rouge, LA., age 39, pled guilty to Aggravated Flight from an Officer and was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Thomas Daigle, and presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Thomas Kliebert. 

St. James Parish:

  1. Walter Bolding, 6456 Hwy 44 Convent, LA., age 62, pled guilty to Theft Valued Over $1,000 but Less than $5,000 and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 5 years supervised probation.
  2. Jordan Oubre, 3343 Wendy St. Paulina, LA., age 23, pled guilty to Simple Burglary of an Inhabited Dwelling (2 counts) and Attempted Simple Burglary of an Inhabited Dwelling. The defendant was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served on each count to run concurrent with one another.
  3. Bryce Haydel, 3350 Wendy St. Paulina, LA., age 44, pled guilty to Attempted Unauthorized Entry of an Inhabited Dwelling and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 2 years supervised probation.
