SERVING ASCENSION, ASSUMPTION & ST. JAMES PARISHES

During the Week of June 13-June 17, 2016, the following defendants pled guilty to various charges and were sentenced in the 23rd Judicial District Court Parishes of Ascension, Assumption and St. James.

Ascension Parish:

1. Thornton Range, 2926 Brady St. Baton Rouge, LA., age 36, pled guilty to Felony Theft and Simple Burglary. The defendant was sentenced to 6 ½ years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served on each count. The imposed sentences are to run concurrent with one another.

2. Tammy Barker, 13202 Lambert Rd. Gonzales, LA., age 43, pled guilty to Simple Burglary of an Inhabited Dwelling and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.

3. Lucas Green, 42553 Hwy 42 Prairieville, LA., age 34, pled guilty to Unauthorized Entry of an Inhabited Dwelling and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. The defendant must serve 6 months of the imposed sentence. Upon release, the remaining 18 months of the imposed sentence is to be suspended, and the defendant is to be placed on 18 months supervised probation.

4. Keith Gayden, 15288 Roy Rogers Rd. Prairieville, LA., age 48, pled guilty to Theft of a Motor Vehicle and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.

5. Jason Leachman, 41393 Aqua Marine Ave. Gonzales, LA., age 44, pled guilty to DWI 3rd Offense and Vehicular Negligent Injuring (2 counts). Sentencing was deferred pending a Pre-Sentence Investigation.
6. Jerry Savoy, 1116 Laredo Dr. Odessa TX., age 31, pled guilty to False Imprisonment with a Dangerous Weapon and was sentenced to 8 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. The defendant is to serve 2 years of the imposed sentence. Upon release, the remaining 6 years of the imposed sentence is to be suspended, and the defendant is to be placed on 5 years supervised probation.

7. Stephon Soloman, 925 Maginnis St. Donaldsonville, LA., age 23, pled guilty to Battery of a Police Officer and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.

8. Raynell Neff, 4309 Gunny St. Baton Rouge, LA., age 37, pled guilty to Theft of Goods at $1500 or more and was sentenced to 7 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.

9. Paul Alsay, 700 Houmas St. Donaldsonville, LA., age 52, pled guilty to Simple Criminal Damage to Property over $500 and Simple Burglary. The defendant was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served on each count. The imposed sentences are to run concurrent with one another.

10. Kaleb Boudreaux, 38173 Hidden Point Dr. Geismar, LA., age 21, pled guilty to Aggravated Burglary and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Joni Buquoi and Amy Colby. The presiding judge was the Honorable Judge Jason Verdigets.

1. Joshua Gonzales, 6161 Royal Palms Gonzales, LA., age 33, pled guilty to DWI 3rd Offense. Sentencing was deferred pending a Pre-Sentence Investigation.

2. Tracey Hood, 13500 Tuff Cat Alley Walker, LA., age 41, pled guilty to Theft Valued at $5000 or more but less than $25,000. The defendant was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Phil Maples, and the presiding judge was the Honorable Judge Thomas Kliebert.

Assumption Parish:

1. Ghinelle Prestenbach, 1277 Hwy 401 Napoleonville, LA., age 44, pled guilty to Issuing Worthless Checks $500 or more (1 count), Issuing Worthless Checks Under $300           (3 counts), and Issuing Worthless Checks over $300 but less than $500 (2 counts). The defendant was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended under the following conditions: The defendant must be placed on 18 months supervised probation and must pay restitution to all victims.

2. Brandon Harris, 150 Pecan St. Napoleonville, LA., age 32, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 12 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 12 months supervised probation.
