SERVING ASCENSION, ASSUMPTION & ST. JAMES PARISHES

During the week of June 4 – June 8, 2018, the following defendants pled guilty to various charges and were sentenced in the 23rd Judicial District Court, parishes of Ascension, Assumption, and St. James.

Ascension Parish:

Ascension Parish had no court news to report this week.

Assumption Parish:

  1. Emilio Sanchez, 360 Mozart Dr. Houma, LA., age 46, pled guilty to Unlawful Production, Manufacturing, Distribution, or Possession of Fraudulent Documents for Identification and was sentenced to 1 year with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
  2. Tammy Aucoin, 606 Aristile Rd. Bayou L’Ourse, LA., age 52, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and Possession of a Schedule III Controlled Dangerous Substance (2 counts). The defendant was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 18 months supervised probation.
  3. Jeremiah Millien, 213 Hwy 1003 Belle Rose, LA., age 37, pled guilty to Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance. Sentencing was deferred to a later date pending a Pre-Sentence Investigation.
  4. Jorge Smith, 255 East 37th Place Cut Off, LA., age 35, pled guilty to Unlawful Production, Manufacturing, Distribution, or Possession of Fraudulent Documents for Identification and was sentenced to 1 year with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 1 year supervised probation.

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Thomas Daigle, and presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Jessie LeBlanc.

St. James Parish:

St. James Parish had no court news to report this week.
