SERVING ASCENSION, ASSUMPTION & ST. JAMES PARISHES

During the week of March 19-March 23, 2018, the following defendants pled guilty to various charges and were sentenced in the 23rd Judicial District Court, parishes of Ascension, Assumption, and St. James.

Ascension Parish:

  1. Dwayne Batiste, 1007 Third St. Donaldsonville, LA., age 27, pled guilty to 2nd Degree Battery and was sentenced to 4 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 2 years supervised probation.
  2. Steven Wade, 1022 N Janice Ave. Gonzales, LA., age 30, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance, Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance, and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. The defendant was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.
  3. Jonathan Henry, 210 Pin Oak Dr. Denham Springs, LA., age 38, pled guilty to Simple Burglary and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.
  4. Alexis Lopez, 41060 Turro Ln. Gonzales, LA., age 30, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule III Controlled Dangerous Substance and Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance. The defendant was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.
  5. Charles Evans, 1123 Acadia Dr. Baton Rouge, LA., age 22, pled guilty to Attempted Simple Burglary and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
  6. Brandon Mungia, Prairieville, LA., age 23, pled guilty to Armed Robbery and was sentenced to 10 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. The said sentence is to be served without benefit of parole, probation, or suspension of sentence.
  7. Gerald Dickerson, 7324 Alberta Dr. Baton Rouge, LA., age 48, pled guilty to Armed Robbery and was sentenced to 20 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. The said sentence is to be served without benefit of parole, probation, or suspension of sentence.

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Kenneth Dupaty and Steven Tureau. Presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Alvin Turner Jr.

 

  1. Laterica McGee, 39058 David Dr. Prairieville, LA., age 23, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule IV Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 18 months supervised probation.
  2. Joseph Solar, 18363 Leo Causey Rd. Prairieville, LA., age 29, pled guilty to Unauthorized Entry of an Inhabited Dwelling and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.
  3. Stanley Yates, Prairieville, LA., age 23, pled guilty to Simple Escape and was sentenced to 6 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
  4. Kendrick Posey, 5888 Ave. K Zachary, LA., age 35, pled guilty to 3rd Degree Rape and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. Upon release from incarceration, the defendant must register and notify as a sex offender for life.

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Joni Buquoi and Shawn Bush. Presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Jessie LeBlanc. 

Assumption Parish:

  1. On December 18, 2017, Tevis Harvey of 1203 St. Vincent St. Donaldsonville, LA., age 28, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance. Sentencing was deferred pending a Pre-Sentence Investigation. On March 19, 2018, Judge Kliebert sentenced Harvey to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.

The above case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Thomas Daigle, and presiding over this matter was the Honorable Judge Thomas Kliebert.

St. James Parish:

St. James Parish had no court news to report this week.
