SERVING ASCENSION, ASSUMPTION & ST. JAMES PARISHES

During the week of March 26-March 30, 2018, the following defendants pled guilty to various charges and were sentenced in the 23rd Judicial District Court, parishes of Ascension, Assumption, and St. James.

Ascension Parish: 

  1. Dawn Aaron, 20950 Diversion Canal St. St. Amant, LA., age 39, pled guilty to Felony Theft and was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
  2. Percy Jointer, 6134 Waterford Ln. Sorrento, LA., age 24, pled guilty to Illegal Possession of Stolen Things and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.
  3. Joseph Collins, 13238 Depen St. Gonzales, LA., age 26, pled guilty to Felony Carnal Knowledge of a Juvenile and was sentenced to 7 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. In addition, the defendant must register and notify as a sex offender for a period of 15 years.
  4. Clint Michel, 14417 Oak Meadow St. Gonzales, LA., age 40, pled guilty to Felony Theft and Simple Burglary of an Inhabited Dwelling. The defendant was sentenced to 10 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Phil Maples, and presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Thomas Kliebert.

Assumption Parish:

  1. On September 25, 2017, Brian Metrejean, 148 Marie Ct. Pierre Part, LA., age 28, pled guilty to Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance. Sentencing was deferred pending a Pre-Sentence Investigation. On March 26, 2018, the defendant was sentenced to 4 years at hard labor with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.

The above case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Thomas Daigle, and presiding over this matter was the Honorable Judge Alvin Turner Jr.

St. James Parish:

 

  1. Nicholas Sperry, 8429 Bubbling Springs Baldwinsville, NY., pled guilty to Auto Burglary and was sentenced to 4 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 4 years supervised probation.
  2. D’Kolby Kennard, 644 Jones Creek Baton Rouge, LA., age 18, pled guilty to Attempted Simple Burglary and Simple Burglary. The defendant was sentenced to 4 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 4 years supervised probation.
  3. Corey Dunn, 736 Lemoyne Dr. LaPlace, LA., age 28, pled guilty to Attempted Simple Burglary (2 counts) and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.
