SERVING ASCENSION, ASSUMPTION & ST. JAMES PARISHES

During the week of March 9 – March 13, 2026, the following defendants pled guilty to various charges and were sentenced in the 23rd Judicial District Court, parishes of Ascension, Assumption, and St. James.

Ascension Parish: 

  1. Charles Gaspard, 7121 Ithaca St. Metairie, LA, age 57, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance, Possession of a Schedule IV Controlled Dangerous Substance, and DWI 2nd The defendant was sentenced to 30 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. Matthew Corkern III, 8252 Brittany Rd. Sorrento, LA, age 36, pled guilty to Simple Burglary and Possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material. The defendant was sentenced to 25 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. The defendant will be required to register and notify as a sex offender or child predator. 
  1. Tarese Garrett, 113 Emy Ln. Patterson, LA, age 19, pled guilty to Illegal Possession of Stolen Firearms and was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 18 months supervised probation. 
  1. Joseph Izevblzva JR., 844 N 14th Port Allen, LA, age 19, pled guilty to Armed Robbery and was sentenced to 10 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. Robin Queen, 6610 Hwy 74 Geismar, LA, age 46, pled guilty to Attempted Theft Valued Over $1,000 and was sentenced to 6 months in the parish jail with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 6 months unsupervised probation.                                                                                                                                                                           
  2. Jadavlan Serf, 744 N 11th Baton Rouge, LA, age 30, pled guilty to Illegal Possession of Stolen Things Valued at $5,000 or More, but Less than $25,000 and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
  1. Timothy Efird, Ascension Parish, age 62, pled guilty to Attempted Simple Kidnapping and was sentenced to 30 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. Joseph Jones, 929 Elizabeth St. Donaldsonville, LA, age 40, pled guilty to Sexual Battery and was sentenced to 7 ½ years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. The defendant will be required to register and notify as a sex offender or child predator. 

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Blake Sheets and Christopher Carter. Presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Cody Martin. 

Assumption Parish: 

  1. Branden Guthridge, 250 S Bay Rd. Pierre Part, LA, age 54, pled guilty to Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. The defendant was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 1-year supervised probation. 
  1. Drake Domingue, 1619 Mayon St. Morgan City, LA, age 35, pled guilty to Simple Criminal Damage to Property Valued at $1,000 or More, but Less than $50,000 and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. Alicia Powell, 168 Georgette St. Labadieville, LA, age 47, pled guilty to Public Intimidation of a School Bus Operator and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 2 years supervised probation. 

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Lana Chaney, and presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge John Smith. 

St. James Parish: 

  1. On November 10, 2025, Jordan Lebouef of 1500 Dunn St. Houma, LA, age 38, pled guilty to Simple Burglary. Sentencing was deferred to a later date pending a Pre-Sentence Investigation. On March 9, 2026, the defendant was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 2 years supervised probation.
