SERVING ASCENSION, ASSUMPTION & ST. JAMES PARISHES

During the week of November 17 – November 21, 2025, the following defendants pled guilty to various charges and were sentenced in the 23rd Judicial District Court, parishes of Ascension, Assumption, and St. James.

Ascension Parish:

  1. Jason Hebert, 139 Paul St. Pierre Part, LA, age 52, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 24 months supervised probation. 
  1. John Tullier, 12415 Camella Rd. St. Amant, LA, age 60, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule IV Controlled Dangerous Substance and Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance. The defendant was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. Curtis Boudreaux, 11248 Emerson Rd. Geismar, LA, age 47, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and Possession of Heroin. The defendant was sentenced to 12 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. Travis Braud, St. Amant, LA, age 47, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 8 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. Toby Scott, 134341 Petite Dr. Maurepas, LA, age 54, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 12 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 12 months supervised probation. 

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Charles “Chuck” Long, Robin O’Bannon, and Kenneth Dupaty. Presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge John Smith. 

  1. Mercedes Scott, 2525 W Orice Roth Gonzales, LA, age 30, pled guilty to Identity Theft and Bank Fraud. The defendant was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
  1. Jeston Johnson, age 32, was found guilty of Simple Burglary. Sentencing was deferred to a later date pending a Pre-Sentence Investigation. 

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Blake Sheets and Chris Carter. Presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Cody Martin. 

  1. Lennard Jones, Prairieville, LA, age 57, pled guilty to Second Degree Battery and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 5 years supervised probation. 
  1. Timothy Callender, 41125 Hwy 621 Gonzales, LA, age 59, pled guilty to Indecent Behavior with a Juvenile and Indecent Behavior with a Juvenile, Victim Under the Age of 13. Sentencing was deferred to a later date pending a Pre-Sentence Investigation. 
  1. Payton McDonald, 13671 Henry Rd. Denham Springs, LA, age 30, pled guilty to Aggravated Flight from an Officer and Reckless Operation of a Vehicle. Sentencing was deferred to a later date pending a Pre-Sentence Investigation. 

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Leila Braswell, Robin O’Bannon, and Adam Koenig. Presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Keyojuan Turner. 

  1. Casey Harris, 13460 Joe Gautreaux Rd. Gonzales, LA, age 35, pled guilty to Theft Valued at $1,000 or More, but Less than $5,000 and was sentenced to 1 year with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. Junior Polancho-Hurtado, 11888 Longridge Ave. Baton Rouge, LA, age 26, pled guilty to Felony Carnal Knowledge of a Juvenile. Sentencing was deferred to a later date pending a Pre-Sentence Investigation.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    
  2. Raven Stansbury, 8032 Hendrix Dr. Baton Rouge, LA, age 27, pled guilty to Illegal Transmission of Monetary Funds and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
  1. On April 21, 2025, Raymond Welch of 18665 Ducros Rd. Prairieville, LA, age 74, pled guilty to Possession of Pornography Involving Juveniles (10 counts). Sentencing was deferred to a later date pending a Pre-Sentence Investigation. This week, the defendant was sentenced to 15 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. Upon release from incarceration, the defendant must register and notify as a sex offender or child predator for a period of 25 years. 
  1. Jerel Williams, 307 N Roscoe Ave. Gonzales, LA, age 37, pled guilty to Attempted Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and was sentenced to 7 ½ years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
  1. Trenikra Brown, 18329 Eldon St. Prairieville, LA, age 45, pled guilty to Theft Valued at $5,000 or more, but Less than $25,000 and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
  1. Rondayquan Riney, 155 D’Ville Village Circle Donaldsonville, LA, age 22, pled guilty to Aggravated Flight from an Officer and Aggravated Obstruction of a Highway Commerce. The defendant was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
  1. Phillip Spurlock, 134 Evangeline Dr. Donaldsonville, LA, age 40, pled guilty to Aggravated Assault with a Firearm and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 2 years supervised probation. 
  1. Kiana Stewart, 2000 Tidwell Rd. Houston, TX, age 24, pled guilty to Conspiracy to Commit Theft Valued at $5,000 or More, but Less than $25,000 and Conspiracy to Commit Simple Burglary. The defendant was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
  1. Morgan Lamberth, 18540 Lake Harbor Lane Prairieville, LA, age 26, pled guilty to Bank Fraud, Monetary Instrument Abuse, Fogery, and Identity Theft. Sentencing was deferred to a later date pending a Pre-Sentence Investigation.

Assumption Parish:

  1. Frederick Diggs, 155 Georgette St. Napoleonville, LA, age 45, pled guilty to Distribution, Manufacture, or Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 
  1. Jarred Johnson, 208 7th Abbeville, LA, age 38, pled guilty to Failure to Register and Notify as a Sex Offender. The defendant was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. Cody Nelson, 704 Jefferson St. Napoleonville, LA, age 37, pled guilty to Distribution, Manufacture, or Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 8 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 5 years supervised probation. 
  1. Christian Perez, 117 North West 18th Reserve, LA, age 27, pled guilty to Failure to Register and Notify as a Sex Offender and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. Dana Simmons, 39472 Hwy 42 Prairieville, LA, age 58, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 18 months supervised probation.

St. James Parish: 

  1. Stefan Sheppard, 2576 N King Ave Lutcher, LA, age 38, pled guilty to Theft Valued at $1,000 or More, but Less than $5,000 and was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  1. Jonathan Anderson, 5617 Bayridge Dr. Baton Rouge, LA, age 26, pled guilty to DWI 3rd Offense and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 2 years supervised probation.
