SERVING ASCENSION, ASSUMPTION & ST. JAMES PARISHES

During the week of September 16 – September 20, 2019, the following defendants pled guilty to various charges and were sentenced in the 23rd Judicial District Court, parishes of Ascension, Assumption, and St. James.

Ascension Parish:

  1. Lloyd Phillips, 305 W 5th St. Donaldsonville, LA., age 32, pled guilty to Simple Burglary and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
  2. Trevon Blunt, 13670 Airline Hwy Baton Rouge, LA., age 19, pled guilty to Purse Snatching and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 2 years supervised probation.

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Kenneth Dupaty, and presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Alvin Turner Jr.

  1. Electra Delagrave, 17649 Hoods Ridge Dr. Prairieville, LA., age 36, pled guilty to Cruelty to Juveniles and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.
  2. Christopher George, 11081 Conner Rd. Geismar, LA., age 33, pled guilty to Simple Burglary and Possession or Introduction of Contraband into a Penal Institution. The defendant was sentenced to 10 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. 
  3. Adrian Johnson, 8544 St. Landry Rd. Gonzales, LA., age 19, pled guilty to Simple Burglary and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.
  4. Keron Landry, 4404 Marchand School Rd. Darrow, LA., age 33, pled guilty to Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and was sentenced to 8 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
  5. Austin Robertson, 38703 Harvest Grove Ave. Walker, LA., age 28, pled guilty to Forgery and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 2 years supervised probation.

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Joni Buquoi and Shawn Bush. Presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Jessie LeBlanc.

 Assumption Parish:

Assumption Parish had no court news to report this week.

St. James Parish:

  1. Dior Batiste, 23077 Pine St. Vacherie, LA., age 26, pled guilty to Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.

The above case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Bruce Mohon, and presiding over this matter was the Honorable Judge Jason Verdigets.
