On February 21, 2024, Randy Nicholas of 12 Milton Rd. Pensacola, FL, age 58, pled guilty to Forcible Rape. Nicholas was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Bruce Mohon, and presiding over this matter was the Honorable Judge Jason Verdigets. This guilty plea was the result of a plea agreement with prosecutors in connection with a multi-agency sexual assault investigation.
On March 12, 2021, St. James Parish Sheriff’s Detectives were contacted by detectives with the Escambi County Florida Sheriff’s Office after learning about a rape occurring in St. James Parish during the course of a Florida investigation. Detectives interviewed the alleged victim before securing a warrant of arrest for Randy Nicholas. Nicholas was subsequently arrested and booked into the St. James Parish Jail. It should be noted that Nicholas is facing similar charges in Escambi County Florida.
Upon entering a guilty plea to the above-mentioned charge, pursuant to the plea agreement with prosecutors, Nicholas was sentenced to 25 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. Upon release from incarceration, the defendant must register and notify as a sex offender or child predator for life.
