On last week, Samuel Muse of 12013 Roddy Rd. Gonzales, LA., age 41, pled guilty to Aggravated Battery. Muse was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Kenneth Dupaty, and presiding over this matter was the Honorable Judge Alvin Turner Jr. This guilty plea was the result of a plea agreement with prosecutors following a 2018 stabbing incident.
On December 10, 2018, Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a reported stabbing at an area apartment complex. Upon arrival, the victim in this matter had already been transported to a local hospital. Deputies learned that two male subjects were making fun of one another in a joking fashion when one of the subjects, who was identified as Samuel Muse, became upset and stabbed the other subject in the neck with a pocketknife. Detectives arrived on scene and gathered evidence developing Muse as a suspect. Detectives obtained a warrant of arrest for Muse who was subsequently apprehended and booked into the Ascension Parish Jail.
Upon entering a guilty plea to the above-mentioned charge, pursuant to the plea agreement with prosecutors, Muse was sentenced to 9 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
