On June 3, 2025, Justin Steward of 222 N Mobile Lane Gramercy, LA, age 33, pled guilty to Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. Steward was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Adam Koenig, and presiding over this matter was the Honorable Judge Cody Martin. This guilty plea was the result of a plea agreement with prosecutors in connection with a 2022 arrest.
On July 11, 2022, a St. James Parish Sheriff’s Deputy initiated a traffic stop after observing the driver of a vehicle commit a traffic violation in the area of LA 3125 in Convent. Upon making contact with the driver of the vehicle, who was identified as Justin Steward, the deputy requested Steward to produce a driver’s license and insurance documents. Due to Steward having no vehicle insurance, the vehicle was towed. During an inventory search of the vehicle, a large caliber rifle was located. During a criminal record check, it was learned that Steward had a felony conviction for Armed Robbery. A warrant of arrest was obtained for Steward, who was ultimately arrested and booked into the St. James Parish Jail.
Upon entering a guilty plea to the above-mentioned charge, pursuant to the plea agreement with prosecutors, Steward was sentenced to 15 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
