Napoleonville Man to Serve 8 Years for Marijuana and Meth Distribution

          On September 20, 2021, Andrew Scott of 126 Jacobs St. Napoleonville, LA, age 43, pled guilty to Distribution of a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance and Distribution of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance. Scott was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Thomas Daigle, and presiding over this matter was the Honorable Judge Cody Martin. This guilty plea was the result of a plea agreement with prosecutors following a 2020 narcotics investigation.

          During the fall months of 2020, Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office narcotics agents conducted an operation targeting street level drug dealers in Assumption Parish. On separate occasions, undercover agents purchased quantities of marijuana and methamphetamine from a male subject identified as Andrew Scott. Scott was indicted by the District Attorney’s Office on November 6, 2020 and was subsequently arrested by deputies and booked into the parish jail.

          Upon entering a guilty plea to the above-mentioned charges, pursuant to the plea agreement with prosecutors, the defendant was sentenced to 8 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
