Pierre Part Man to Serve 20 Years for Pornography Involving Juveniles

Tal Gaudet of 720 Belle River Rd. Pierre Part, LA, age 34, pled guilty to Pornography Involving Juveniles. Gaudet was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Thomas Daigle, and presiding over this matter was the Honorable Judge Cody Martin. This guilty plea was the result of a plea agreement with prosecutors following a 2022 arrest.

On May 2, 2022, agents with the Louisiana Bureau of Investigations Cyber Crime Unit initiated an investigation into Tal Gaudet reportedly possessing and distributing child pornography. Agents were able to determine that Gaudet was obtaining and sharing child pornography of children under the age of 13 via an online social media application. Agents obtained and executed a search warrant at Gaudet’s residence where electronic devices belonging to Gaudet were seized and underwent forensic examinations. Gaudet disclosed to agents that he was the user of the reported social media account and engaged in viewing and trading images of prepubescent child pornography. Gaudet was subsequently arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center.

Upon entering a guilty plea to the above-mentioned charge, pursuant to the plea agreement with prosecutors, Gaudet was sentenced to 20 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. Upon release, the defendant must register and notify as a sex offender or child predator for a period of 25 years.
