Pierre Part Woman Pleads Guilty to Distribution of Meth

On September 17, 2018, Theresa Furnish of 128 Oak Ln. Pierre Part, LA., age 53, pled guilty to Distribution of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance. Furnish was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Thomas Daigle, and presiding over this matter was the Honorable Judge Thomas Kliebert. This guilty plea was the result of a plea agreement with prosecutors following a 2017 narcotics investigation.

In September of last year, undercover narcotics agents under the direction of the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division purchased a quantity of methamphetamine from a female subject identified as Theresa Furnish. This purchase was made as part of an on-going narcotics investigation targeting street-level drug dealers in Assumption Parish. After making the purchase, the narcotics were placed into evidence, and a warrant of arrest was obtained for Furnish. Furnish was subsequently arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center.

Upon entering a guilty plea to the above-mentioned charges, as per the plea agreement with prosecutors, Furnish was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
