Upon apprehending the driver of the vehicle, who was identified as Richard Culler, deputies learned that the vehicle Culler was driving had been stolen out of Livingston Parish. Deputies conducted a search of the vehicle which yielded two firearms which were also stolen out of Livingston Parish. Deputies learned during a criminal history check that Culler had a prior felony conviction in Livingston Parish for Simple Burglary. Ascension Parish deputies transported Culler to the Ascension Parish Jail where he was booked on charges including Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.
Upon entering a guilty plea to the above-mentioned charge, pursuant to the plea agreement with prosecutors, Culler was sentenced to 7 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
