Thibodaux Man sentenced to 10 years on Drug Charge

On May 5, 2016, Jordan Cheatham of Thibodaux, LA., age 31, pled guilty to Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance. Cheatham was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Thomas Daigle. Presiding over this matter was the Honorable Judge Jessie LeBlanc. Per Judge LeBlanc, sentencing was deferred pending a Pre-Sentence Investigation. Cheatham, who was awaiting trial, changed his plea to guilty just prior to the start of a jury trial.

On September 6, 2016, Judge LeBlanc ordered that Jordan Cheatham be committed to the Louisiana Department of Corrections for a period of 10 years at hard labor with credit for time served. It was ordered that 3 years of the imposed sentence are to be suspended, and upon release, Cheatham is to be placed on supervised probation for a period of 3 years.
